5 fashion risks you shouldn’t take

There are two types of fashion risks. Firstly, we have good fashion risks, like a well-styled double denim look or matching prints or socks with heels. And then there are bad fashion risks that you need not be trying your hands on. When you take a good style leap, the result can be worth all the risk. However, celebrities can be fearless, or at times, foolish. But at least we can learn from their fashion blunders. So here are some fashion risks that you shouldn’t be taking right now. Or ever in this lifetime.

Matchy-matchy

Ever heard of mix and match? Dia doesn’t believe in low-intensity coordination. She opted for a frumpy dress and if that wasn’t bad enough, she wore a lipstick and a pair of very ugly shoes in the exact same colour. All that’s missing here is matching burgundy hair.

Inappropriate bustier cups

By inappropriate, we obviously mean ill-fitting. So we know boudoir dressing is back in fashion and so bustiers are no longer limited to the bedroom, but please, if you can’t get a decent fit, just steer clear of bustier cups on your dress! It clearly embarrasses us more than you to see your twins encased improperly and gives us a serious urge to run to you with a dupatta and cover you up.

Pyjamas outside the house

There are pantsuits. There are palazzos. And then there are shiny pyjamas. So even if you’re an invincible woman like Kangana Ranaut and the design is a Georgio Armani, nothing can save you. So leave the pyjama suits to Barney Stinson.

Raiding a teenager’s closet in your 40s

To all gorgeous women who are nearing their silver jubilee, we appreciate when you sport risque outfits with aplomb and don’t give a damn to fashion rules. But there’s a limit to everything, and there are some things that you are required to burn once you bid goodbye to your 20s. Now Sushmita is 38 and this is 2014 but her hairstyle tells us that she’s still stuck in the 90s. And so does the form-fitting leather look. But the shoes tell a different story altogether, one that we couldn’t quite understand.

Head-to-toe metallic monstrosity

What’s that? A shimmery paragliding onesie? Wearing gold baggy jumpsuits to the red carpet is criminal and Sonal Chouhan needs to understand that. Okay, let’s be real. The metallic tone isn’t all that’s making us go blind here. The drawstring waist, the unapologetic fit and even the bad innerwear choice—this one’s full of eyesores. We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again: Nishka Lulla, please do us all a favour and retire.

I think Sushmita looks good except for the shoes which would look fine separate.

Sushmita’s outfit is fine, only the shoes are the problem. I don’t like all the other outfits.
