5 Happy Endings in Movies That Fooled You

What if the wish for happy endings, which are the goals of our actions, are actually mere illusions. Someone's happy ending is bound to be someone's sad ending. At the end of the day, it is not possible that everyone goes home happy. No one explains this better than Oscar Wilde when he said “The good ended happily, and the bad unhappily. That is what fiction means.”  We have supported our favorite characters as they battle through the odds and win at the end of the day and everyone goes home happy. But is that really the case? Here are some movies where you thought the ending was happy but it actually wasn't.

Although, that explains why Jake didn't hesitate before giving up on his human self.

Inception (2010)

Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi (1983)

Han Solo (Harrison Ford) and Princess Leia (Carrie Fisher) finally are together and Anakin Skywalker almost redeemed himself. As they say – you might win the battle but not the war. The war against the empire was far from over and the entire galaxy far far away was still under the rule of evil.

Watchmen (2009)
Happy Endings - BookMyShowAlthough Rorschach's (played by Jackie Earle Haley) journal after his death reveals the conspiracy to end the Cold War, it would have been better if the conspiracy had not been revealed since it united two superpowers against a common foe and ended the Cold War.
