There is a terrible misconception about the Hollywood celebrities – that they are airheads with not much to offer beyond a pretty face. But a lot more than just looks is needed in the world of cinema and the actors have made their name with hard work paired with talent. Some celebrities even have an impressive educational background that would be noteworthy even for any average, non-celeb person. Here are five Hollywood celebrities who are a lot smarter than you would have thought:
The famous actress graduated from Harvard in 2003 with a B.A. in Psychology, while in the middle of her acting career and only shot Star Wars movies while she studied as she was prioritizing her education. Conan O' Brien
Conan O'Brien is also a Harvard alumnus. He graduated magna cum laude with a concentration in history and literature. While in college, he wrote for the Harvard Lampoon and after graduation, he wrote skits for Saturday Night Live from where he went on to be the first to be hired for the Simpsons in 1992 after the original writers. Now he's one of the smartest talk show hosts on the television.

He's also a smart investor and guest starred on the reality investment show, Shark Tank.
Jodie Foster shot up in popularity after her exceptional performance as Clarice Starling in Silence of the Lambs. But before she showed her impressive acting, she had an impressive educational background. She learned to read at the age of 3 and speaks French so fluently that she can be mistaken for a native speaker. She also graduated magna cum laude from Yale University, majoring in literature.
Known for playing a neurobiologist and Sheldon Cooper's girlfriend on The Big Bang Theory, Mayim Bialik is actually a neuroscientist in real life. She got accepted to Harvard and Yale but chose to go to UCLA to be closer to her parents. She completed B. S. in neuroscience with minors in Hebrew and Jewish studies and eventually went on to get a Ph.D.
