1. Die Hard (1994)
This has to be one of the greatest action-thrillers of all time. The film features Bruce Wills as the NYDP detective, who takes on a gang of terrorists, to save a group of hostages including his wife. This gritty thriller also introduced us to Severus Snape aka Alan Rickman, who delivered a terrific performance as the evil mastermind.
2. Phone booth (2002)
A one-of-a-kind hostage drama in which the belligerent party holds the lead hostage with only a phone call. Starring Colin Farrell this real-time thriller will certainly make you think twice about committing a crime.
3. Ransom (1996)
Starring Mel Gibson, this skillfully taken thriller depicts the story of a rich man, who traces methods to save his son, who is held hostage. The film also earned Mel Gibson a Golden Globe nomination for his enthralling performance.
4. Man on fire (2004)
Man on fire directed by the late Tony Scott, starred Denzel Washington (Joyhn), who plays the role of a former CIA agent turned bodyguard, whose duty is to protect a 10-year-old girl. Things go havoc when she is abducted, and Joyhn decides to take revenge on the people who committed the crime. Fast, racy and terrific; you certainly don’t want to miss this movie!
5. Taken (2008-2015)
Taken re-launched Liam Neeson
as the ultimate action hero. The popular actor plays the role of a former CIA agent in all the series. After the massive success of Taken 1 and Taken 2, the makers are now ready with the third and final installment of the series, Taken 3.
