Dhanush dons many hats and juggles the roles of a film actor, producer, lyricist, and playback singer. Although he has been a huge success only in Tamil cinema, Dhanush has made his presence felt in Bollywood through his great acting skills. We saw him first in Raanjhanaa opposite Sonam Kapoor, and then with Amitabh Bachchan in Shamitabh.
Dhanush made his debut in 2002 with Thulluvadho Ilamai. He is part of a family that is deeply rooted in films. He is the son of Tamil film director and producer Kasthuri Raja, and his brother Selvaraghavan is also a well-known director. He is married to Aishwarya, Rajinikanth‘s daughter. In spite of such strong roots, he has managed to carve his niche independent of his family ties. Here’s why we think he makes a great role model.
Dhanush came into international limelight after his hit chartbusting number ‘Why This Kolaveri Di?’. The tune was catchy, the voice different and it was an online rage. Within the week of its release, it had 3.5 million views on YouTube, with more than one million shares on Facebook.
Runs a Successful Production House
His’s production house Wunderbar Films does an excellent job at producing and distributing Tamil films. The company is jointly managed by his wife Aishwarya R. Dhanush.
A Humble Man
He is very humble about his accomplishments. The Raanjhanaa actor has won three National Film Awards and seven Filmfare Awards.
Handles the ‘Rajini Pressure’
When your father-in-law is a legend in the same profession as yours, there is bound to be some pressure. Dhanush handles it really well though. It speaks volumes for his character.
One Man Three Cinema Worlds
In January this year, Dhanush announced that will now he is now going to manage his time between Kollywood, Bollywood & Hollywood! He has been signed on for Iranian-French director Marjane Satrapi‘s film The Fakir opposite Hollywood actress Uma Thurman.
We foresee a bright future for this Tamil star. Here’s wishing him a great year. Happy birthday, Dhanush.
