There’s speculation that Priyadarshan's next film will star Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal in the lead roles. The film will most likely be shot in Punjab and Mumbai, and the announcement will be made as soon as the lead actress is finalized. As of now, it is uncertain about which actresses have being approached for the role. Well, we can’t wait for the movie to go on floors as Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal are a superhit combo. Below are some of their best films together, and if you haven't watched them yet, do so now!
This one’s a classic. The characters – Baburao, Raju, and Ghanshyam – were wacky, hilarious and at times, stupid. Hera Pheri is one of those timeless comedies that can be watched multiple times. The sequel, however, wasn't as funny as the original one.
Oh My God!
While this was a comedy film, it also addressed the issue of blind faith and other religious beliefs. Oh My God! was adapted from a Gujarati play and it was the first time that Akshay Kumar played the supporting actor, and Paresh Rawal, the protagonist.
Akshay Kumar was Paresh Rawal's nephew in Anees Bazmee's 2007 film and the exchanges between them left everyone in splits. It was unfortunate that Kumar wasn't a part of the sequel which was titled Welcome Back.
Awara Pagal Deewana
This 2003 film by Vikram Bhatt starred Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, Paresh Rawal, Aftab Shivdasani, Johny Lever, Aarti Chabria and Amrita Arora. Akshay Kumar played the role of a menacing don while Paresh Rawal was a hen-pecked husband.
Priyadarshan is known to make comedy films but this one had a suspense element to it. Vidya Balan’s character was possessed and only Akshay Kumar could save her life. The film was a superhit with the track 'Hare Ram Hare Ram' topping the charts.
