5 unknown facts about Uttama Villain

 Imagine Kamal Haasan in a period drama! The very thought of him playing the role of a powerful theatre artist excites us! It looks like Kamal Haasan has read our thoughts and decided that he would execute the idea. And going by the first look of the posters and the trailer of the film, we are sure that this movie will satiate our hunger. As Uttama Villain gears up for release this week, we bring you some unknown facts about the film:

It’s been two years since his last film released and Kamal Haasan is here to compensate for his absence! The actor will be seen in two varied roles in Uttama Villain. He portrays the role of an eighth century theatre artist and a modern-age superstar. That’s double the fun. Now that’s what we call a treat!
 
2. A winning combination
 
 
Did you know that the story, screenplay and dialogues of Uttama Villain were penned down by Kamal Haasan himself? Yes, the multi-faceted actor was even going to helm the camera for this one. But plans soon changed, and his close friend and colleague, Ramesh Aravind, took over to direct this film. For those of you who didn’t know, Ramesh Aravind has previously directed Kamal Haasan in the Kannada film Rama Shama Bhama, and it turned out to be a super-hit!
 
3. An impressive Soundtrack
 
 
Believe it or not, the soundtrack of Uttama Villain comprises of 17 songs, including seven background scores. All the songs of the film have been composed by music composer Ghibran. Kamal Haasan has penned the lyrics and has sung 3 songs in the film. Impressive indeed!
 
4. The ancient art of Theyyam
 
 
Curiosity and suspense are the main elements in a Kamal Haasan film. He is also known to portray innovative subjects in his films. In this film, he gives us an insight into the South Indian art form called Theyyam. It is said that Kamal Haasan’s makeup and the process to attain the perfect look took him 4 hours. Talk about pain-stalking effort!
 
5. K. Balachander’s last film
 
 
Uttama Villain will mark the late director, K. Balachander‘s last appearance in a film. The late director has played the role of Kamal Haasan’s mentor in the film. Another legendary artist in the film, includes, director K. Vishwanath
