The Gen next seems to be taking the world by storm, be it Bollywood or Cricket (since we are in India, and nothing else really matters!). There’s another avenue that is welcoming youngsters with open arms. The Lakme Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2016 is celebrating five Gen Next Designers, and is all set to roll out the red carpet today with a Manish Malhotra show. The five designers have varying fashion backgrounds and are sure to woo us with their creative visions.
Let’s look at these new kids on the block and what they have to offer us from 30th March to 3rd April 2016.
Naveem Naaz Shaikh, a NIFT grad, is the designer behind this brand. The colors and interesting patterns are the USPs of the brand and it will make you fall in love with her outlandish style. We love the Boho vibes and the strong personality that her designs reflect!
An alumna of the prestigious Parsons the School of Design, New York, Agrima’s design core strength is her clarity of thought, structural designs in vibrant colors and a bold almost esoteric feel. You’ll love the way she is blending art in wearable patterns.
Aqdus Saleem is the woman behind the brand, and like her name she likes to please the sacred fashion sensibilities. Graceful and soft are the words that come to mind when you look at her designs. A product of Pearl Academy, her style is contemporary with a touch of feminist grace.
Blending a little bit of Indian block printing with strong cuts and creases is Chirag Nainani. His label adds the much-needed energy to the stunning tradition of Indian hand-block-painting on fabrics. He succeeds in marrying contemporary and casual with customary art.
Sohaya Misra’s baby, Chola should be every free-spirited lady’s go-to clothing line. A stylist and designer, her clothes will immediately show you her sense of style and love for comfort. Her designs are already famous with the Bollywood celebs.
So are you ready to be impressed?
