6 Comedy Scenes That Were Not Planned

A little bit of spontaneity is always great- not just in life, but also in movies. A lot of effort and thought are put together while scripting a film. But the movie scripts aren’t always set in stone. The actors always improvise a bit on the set. Even though it might seem a little annoying to screenwriters and directors, such improvisation has given us many memorable scenes. Did you know that some famous films like Annie Hall and Jaws didn’t have a complete script when they started filming? But they turned out great anyway, and we love them!

Here are six awesome comedy scenes from famous movies, that were completely unplanned.

Annie Hall (1977)

Annie Hall is a great film. It’s filled with wit, humour and the charm of both Woody Allen and Diane Keaton. In this specific scene, Woody Allen, after discovering he’s holding about $2000 worth of cocaine, scoops a bit up his nose. And his reaction is epic and completely genuine!

Dumb and Dumber (1994)

Trust Jim Carrey to ask something like "You wanna hear the most annoying sound in the world?" While shooting this scene, Jim Carrey randomly said this line. It wasn’t in the script at all! Thanks, Jim.

Good Will Hunting (1997)

Good Will Hunting isn’t a comedy. But when Robin Williams started talking about his wife farting in her sleep, Matt Damon just couldn’t control his laughter. And guess what? The entire story about his wife was improvised. Check it out.

Zoolander (2001)

What do you do when you forget a dialogue? Well, just repeat the previous one! Ben Stiller did exactly that in this scene.

40-year Old Virgin (2005)

Before you play this video, here’s a warning- plug on your earphones. ‘Cause it’s absolutely NSFW! The reaction of Steve Carrell while getting his chest waxed is absolutely genuine and hilarious. Even his co-stars, Paul Rudd, Seth Rogen and Romany Malco, couldn’t control their laughter.

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest (2006)

While shooting for this scene, Johnny Depp accidentally wobbled down the stairs. But instead of cutting the scene there, Johnny hopped back up and continued shooting the scene. He also sang a little song about his mystical jar of dirt! We love you, Jack Sparrow!
