Throwback Thursday: 6 Deadly Damsels of Bollywood

With a number of movies being released every year, we have no shortage of villains when it comes to Bollywood. We have explored all kinds – with garish outfits and elaborate lairs to trigger-happy men of the street. There is another kind of villains we like very much. We are talking about the villainous women. These beauties are known for their good looks and not-so-good intentions. Seduction is (probably) their weapon and at the end of the day, they might or might not get their own way. It is refreshing to see these damsels stepping out of the mold of an 'ideal' woman and entertaining us thoroughly as portray antagonists to the heroes. Here are some deadly damsels we have come to like over the years.

Urmila MatondkarKaun (1999)
Deadly Damsels - BookMyShow

This movie is considered one of Ram Gopal Verma's finest work with a script written by Anurag Kashyap and brought to life by some spectacular actors. Urmila Matondkar takes the lead as the damsel in distress and how the tables turn when this damsel unleashes her claws. It was truly creepy to see her at the end of the movie. Wish we could see more movies like this one.

KajolGupt: The Hidden Truth (1997)

Admit it to yourself that when there are talks of female villains, she is the first to pop in your mind. With a twist no one saw coming, it was amazing to see Isha's transformation (played by Kajol) from the next-door-girl to a calculated killer, in the name of love. That transformation still gives us goosebumps till date.

Priyanka Chopra7 Khoon Maaf (2011), Aitraaz (2004)

The movie title should kind of give away the deeds of this femme fatale. She married seven times looking for love and was disappointed every time. Priyanka Chopra perfectly suited the character of Susanna as we saw the character aging on screen from a little girl to an old woman. Another movie where Priyanka Chopra played a character with sinister intentions was Aitraaz and we know how well that went.

Vidya BalanIshqiya (2010)
Deadly Damsels - BookMyShowTruly an amazing actress, she shines in every role she attempts. As Krishna Verma, she uses all the means possible to get her way in the end. Her character's intentions were certainly deadly but no one could suspect her of such deeds.

Katrina KaifRace (2008)

When you go to watch an Abbas-Mustan movie, every character has a nefarious motive until proven otherwise. In spite of this, we could not suspect Sophia (Katrina Kaif) of the kind of duplicity she committed.

Shabana Azmi Makdee (2002)

Although not a damsel with the make-up she donned for this role, Makdee (Shabana Azmi) was definitely a deadly villain. She still gives us the creeps and was extremely horrifying when we first saw her as kids.

Which deadly damsel is your favorite? Tell us in the comments below and don't forget to share.
