The Marvel Comic Universe is a whirl of worlds, all replete with badass heroes, spine-chilling villains, acerbic humour and a whole lot of awesomeness. We love the comics, just like the legions of fans out there. But there is something that is far better than the comics- the films, of course! From Spiderman, to Iron Man and the Hulk, there’s just something in the films that always has us hungering for more. Not to forget that many Hollywood stars are all dying to get into the tight rubber suits and zip around cities. With blockbuster films like Thor, Iron Man, Spiderman and so many more, Marvel’s really taken us for a sweet ride. But they’re far from done. The not-so-distant future promises many films worth drooling over. Here’s a few we can’t wait for:
When we all saw the card-shuffling Gambit in Wolverine’s, we were slightly disappointed. Taylor Kitsch was far from what we all wanted to see- a complex and layered character. But Gambit’s back, and it’s going to be a full-length film with Channing Tatum who will be dealing the cards! Fans all over the world are in two minds about this move, but only time will tell. Gambit will be released in late 2016.
Guardians of the Galaxy 2:
When Guardians of the Galaxy released in 2014, no one thought it would go on to become one of Hollywood’s biggest hits. With a mouth watering cast including Bradley Cooper, Zoe Saldana, Chris Pratt and Dave Bautista, the film swept us all of our feet with it’s badass characters. And now, the Guardians are back! Reportedly, the plot will be about Peter Quill’s father, and director James Gunn has already revealed a third Guardians of the Galaxy film! We don’t know about you, but we’re super pumped for this franchise!
For the uninitiated, Doctor Strange is an arrogant neurosurgeon who learns the arcane arts. With rare appearances, not many know who he is. But that’s set to change, come November 2016, with the Doctor Strange film! Starring Benedict Cumberbatch as the Doctor himself, the film will also see Chiwetel Ejofor alongside the Sherlock star. If all goes well, we could have a dark, brooding Marvel movie, different from all the others.
Paul Rudd is set to take on the mantle of the pint-sized hero known as the Ant-Man. Playing Scott Lang, a petty thief who becomes a miniature superhero, Rudd seems to be getting in character pretty well, by the looks of the trailer! We’re really getting ‘ant’sy for this one! Ant-Man releases on .
The funniest and also most badass comic anti-hero finally has his own feature film. Ryan Reynolds dons the red and black suit in one of the most anticipated Marvel films in a long time. The Merc with a Mouth will be seen in 2016, and the character will be linked to his comic book roots as well.
Avengers: Age of Ultron:
Finally, it’s here. After what seems to be ages of waiting, they’re back! And in style, I must add. Faced with a new villain, Ultron, the Avengers will fight their toughest battle ever. With Nick Fury returning with his rag-tag team of a god, a billionaire, a soldier, a pretty lady and more, the stakes in this epic battle couldn’t have been higher. Also, we get to see Iron Man go up against the Hulk! Now that’s something you don’t see everyday, do you? Avengers: Age of Ultron hits theatres on in India!
