6 Movie References You Might Have Missed

A good movie is something that can thoroughly entertain you the first time. An epic movie is one which gives you something more with each viewing. You notice the little clues which you might have missed the first time. There is also a lot of foreshadowing and other movie references involved (yes, there are references to other movies, too). The movie in reference might be connected to one of the leads or it might be some sort of tribute to the film-maker’s previous works. But it does make us feel very smart when we do get these references, and we end up watching the movie more than a couple of times to find them all. We have put together a list of some references like this for you, so you can watch those movies again and spot them yourselves!
Mr. and Mrs. Smith

Movie References - BookMyShowWe love that movie because we liked to see the then couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie together, and who doesn’t love spy movies! But there is a reference to another Brad Pitt hit hidden in plain sight when actor Adam Brody walks into the frame wearing a Fight Club t-shirt. We are sure you didn’t find this the first time.
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

Movie References - BookMyShowThe 2005 movie was a delight to watch with Johnny Depp as Willy Wonka. Directed by Tim Burton, the movie has references to his idol Ed Wood. Depp, in one of the scenes, walks into a room of pink sheep which alludes to Ed Wood’s penchant for pink sweaters and incidentally Depp also played Ed Wood in Tim Burton’s biopic on the filmmaker.
Cedar Rapids

Movie References - BookMyShowIn the movie, Isaiah Whitlock does a self-reference by mimicking his character from a TV series he was a part of. Incidentally, his film character was also a fan of the TV series character. He couldn’t get more self-promotional than this.
Die Hard with a Vengeance

Movie References - BookMyShowThis series has always been a fan favorite and for this part, McClane had to come out of retirement. When asked what he did during his retirement, he answered that he had been smoking cigarettes and watching Captain Kangaroo, which seems a normal line until you realize that these are lyrics to the song 'Flowers on the Wall' – the same song Bruce Willis’ character was singing in Pulp Fiction.
Last Action Hero

Movie References - BookMyShowThe movie starred Arnold Schwarzenegger and in a twisted sort of tribute they showed Sylvester Stallone in the Terminator avatar, calling it Stallone’s best movie. That definitely was hitting two birds with one stone.
Out of Sight

Movie References - BookMyShowIn the movie, George Clooney plays a criminal on the run and when the newscasters are using mug shots to announce warnings of his escape, the mug shot they use is actually from one of George Clooney’s other films – From Dusk till Dawn. This is certainly a self-indulgent reference which we are sure most people not would get.
