Yes, the southern part of India is known for its greenery and scenic beauty but it is also known for its beautiful ladies. When the south of India offered beautiful and talented actresses like Rekha, Hema Malini and Sridevi to Bollywood, they were accepted with open arms and why not? These three were and still are known for their beauty and acting talents. The south Indian film fraternity has so many of its brilliantly talented and beautiful actresses to offer to Bollywood even today. These actresses belong to what is now called the new- generation actors who don’t shy away from taking up roles that traditionally actresses from the south were reluctant to do. From playing a role of an independent RJ who is wheelchair-bound to a revenge-seeking rape victim who considers herself more of a survivor and rightly so, south Indian actresses are paving a new way for the next generation, which is incredibly inspiring to watch.
Here is a list of the beautiful and talented actresses who continue to do some amazing work:
This beautiful Mollywood actress, who is a trained Bharatanatyam and Mohiniattam, is known to take up roles that are not run-of-the-mill. Her most notable role was that of a nurse named Tessa K Abraham in the movie 22 Female Kottayam (2012). Her other movies include Ritu (2009), Indian Rupee (2011) and Rani Padmini (2015).
This gorgeous actress who has not only worked in Malayalam films but also Tamil, Telugu and Kannada is one amazingly talented actress. Her notable movies include Raja Rani (2013), Puthiya Niyamam (2016) and Iru Mugan (2016). She was seen last in the recently released movie Kaashmora as Ratnamahadevi in a completely new look and we think she looked hot!
Parvathy was first noticed in 2006 when she played the role of a school girl Pooja Krishna in the movie Notebook. She later went on to do other movies that were not her best. She soon hit the limelight with back to back hits like Bangalore Days (2014), Ennu Ninte Moideen (2015) and Charlie (2015). She won the Kerala State Film Award for her two 2015 releases.
Trisha is one of the most familiar names in the south film industry. Her notable movies include Varsham (2004), Vinnai Thaandi Varuvaayaa (2010). She had a rather not-so-noteworthy Bollywood debut with the movie Khatta Meetha (2010) opposite Akshay Kumar but we hope the result of the movie at the box office does not deter her from taking up some more Bollywood projects.
She is one of the most beautiful and talented actresses that Bollywood is missing out on. She is quite popular down south with movie like Ye Maaya Chesave (2010), Theri (2016) and A Aa (2016).
The actress, who can speak six languages, simply refuses to do glam doll roles. She only believes in doing sensible characters. Her notable movies include Violin (2011), Urumi (2011), Ustad Hotel (2012) and OK Kanmani (2015).
So what is Bollywood waiting for? Only thalaivaa knows!
