6 Unforgettable Performances by Trisha

The film world is a male-dominated industry, and if you intend to survive in this industry, you have to rise to become a superstar. In a time when the shelf-life of a heroine has shrunk, one actress has emerged victorious.  And, that is Trisha! The actress began her career by appearing in a brief role in the film Jodi. She later went on to play the female lead in Mounam Pesiyadhe. And now, after 12 years in the film industry, the actress is also geared up for her 50th film – Thoongavanam.  We present to you some of her noteworthy roles.

Mounam Pesiyadhe

Trisha displayed confidence and innocence in her debut film, that automatically made her Kollywood’s sweetheart. Can anyone forget – ”Thaniyava? Pesalame”. She could melt anybody’s heart, right?

Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana

With Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana, Trisha proved she can play the role of a village belle with conviction. Whether it was the rural flavor of the movie, or the transformation of the character;  Trisha’s performance added charm to the film. This earned her a Filmfare Award for the Best Actress in Telugu.

Aaytha Ezhuthu

We all love multi-starrers. The performances of an ensemble cast is always a delight to watch. Trisha’s role as the carefree-party girl in the film Aayutha Ezhutu was like a fresh of breath air. She portrayed the role with such ease.

Abhiyum Naanum

A film that gives scope for a female performer is very rare, and Abhiyum Naanum was one of them. The film highlighted the bond between a father and his daughter. It’s not easy sharing screen space with a seasoned artist like Prakash Raj, but Trisha played her role with panache.

Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa

Jessie stands one shade tall above all the other characters Trisha has ever played. Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa was one of the most-successful films of the actress’ career, and calling her performance superb would be an understatement. She made us fall in love with a girl with an indecisive nature.

Yennai Arindhaal

Many actress in their peak shy away from playing the role of a mother. Trisha though isn’t one among them. The actress played the role of a single mother in Gautham Menon‘s Yennai Arindhaal, and won the attention of the audience instantly. Her role of a classical dance teacher won her praises from audience and critics alike.
