The Indian film industry is one of the largest film industries in the world. They produce an approximate of 800-1000 films annually, which is roughly double the number of films released in Hollywood. Bollywood is more than 100 years old now and in all these years of existence, the tremendous work of the film industry's crews has made it a significant member among the world record holders. Many movies hold world records for their specialty, and many celebrities for the work they have done in their Bollywood career. Like Priyanka Chopra was considered by the Guinness Book of World records for playing 12 different characters in one film. Amazing, right? Here, have a look at 7 more:
In the year 1993, Kumar Sanu made a record for maximum number of songs recorded in a day, by singing 28 songs in a single day (which means less than an hour for each song).
Sameer Anjaan was given the honour of being the Most Prolific Bollywood Lyricists by the Guinness Book of World records for having composed a total of 3,544 different songs as of 15th December 2015. The number of songs is more than the number of days many careers last in Bollywood.
Asha Bhosle was recognised by the Guinness Book of World Records as the most recorded artist in music history in the year 2011 – 11,000 songs including solos, duets and chorus. She has also sung in 20 different languages (which is more than the number of languages we generally know).
Kaho Naa… Pyaar hai
Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai was added to the Guinness Book of World Records 2002 for winning a total of 92 awards, the most that a single film has ever received. This film also marked the debut of our very own Greek god, Hrithik Roshan.
Yaadein is the record holder for having the Fewest Actors in a Narrative Film because it only features a single actor Sunil Dutt (the only other actor being Nargis Dutt who appeared in a silhouette only in the final scene). The film was directed and produced by Sunil Dutt himself and is still one-of-its kind in the world of cinema.
Late Jagdish Raj was the record holder for being the most typecast actor. He played a cop in 144 movies. He also holds a place in the Limca Book of World Records for being the most memorable policeman ever.
Earlier held by the movie Boss, the record of the world's largest movie poster was taken by S.S. Rajamouli's Baahubali: The Beginning. The poster covered an area of 4,793.65 square meters which is equal to 51,598.21 square feet. Literally, the bahubali of all posters.
