Your favorite childhood rockstar turns 54 today! Jon Bon Jovi was born on March 2, 1962, in New Jersey, USA. In 1983, he would form Bon Jovi that would go ahead to become one of the most iconic and successful bands in the history of rock n’ roll. The band has had several international hits, such as Livin’ on a Prayer, Wanted Dead Or Alive, Born to Be My Baby, Keep The Faith, Have A Nice Day and more. Bon Jovi even performed India in 1995, as a part of the band’s These Days Tour. They have been highly popular in the country, especially with the song It’s My Life, the first single from the 2000-released album Crush that marked the band’s return to stardom after a hiatus and an introduction to its music for a new generation of fans.
Today, Bon Jovi is one of the best-selling bands of all time. Here is a list of what we feel are some of the most underrated songs of the band and Jon’s, which you may or may not have heard but you must definitely give a few more listens:
A song about hope.
I know Rome’s still burning, though the times have changed,
This world keeps turning round and round and round and round, these days.
Thank You For Loving Me
A song of appreciation.
When I couldn’t fly, oh, you gave me wings.
You parted my lips, when I couldn’t breathe.
Thank you for loving me.
A song about discovering inner self and beauty.
And I wish I was a camera sometimes, so I could take your picture with my mind;
Put it in a frame for you to see, how beautiful you really are to me!
A song about unemployment, desperation and eventual hope.
I cursed the sky to open, I begged the clouds for rain,
I prayed to God for water, for this burning in my veins.
Stick To Your Guns
A song about conviction and confidence.
There’s no living in the backseat,
If you’re gonna drive through town.
Something To Believe In
A song about despair.
If there’s nothing but survival, how can I believe in sin?
In a world that gives you nothing, we need something to believe in.
Let It Rock
A song about celebration.
It’s alright if you have a good time,
It’s alright if you want to cross that line,
To break on through to the other side.
Happy birthday, Jon Bon Jovi! We hope this one is a Bed of Roses.
