Bollywood has taken a liking to not just the blockbusters for remakes from the South Indian film industry but also some remarkable actors. However, there are several South Indian actors who could not make it big in Bollywood even though they continued to give one hit after the other in their respective film industries down south. We know it is not an easy task for these actors to make a huge impact in Bollywood, while some have failed, some have succeeded. Some of them make us wait too long for a glimpse of them again in Bollywood. Here is a list of South actors who entered Bollywood and let’s see the impact they have made. Would we see more of them in Bollywood? Let’s find out.
This chocolate boy was quite a charmer in Rang De Basanti and managed to steal many hearts in Bollywood. However, he disappeared from the Bollywood scene right after this movie. Maybe he is waiting for a perfect script to do his second film. We hope he does more Bollywood films.
Son of superstar Chiranjeevi, Ram Charan made his Bollywood debut with Zanjeer opposite Priyanka Chopra. He is undoubtedly a big superstar down south, but he failed to make a similar impact in Bollywood. However, there is no denying that this good-looking actor sure knows to act and we hope he gets a hit in Bollywood soon.
The Nayaki of Kollywood made her Bollywood debut opposite Akshay Kumar in Khatta Meetha. She however has no plans of coming back to Bollywood anytime soon and is very happy doing Tamil and Telugu movies. Hey! We love you here in B-town too, you know.
This Malayalam superstar made his Bollywood debut opposite Rani Mukherjee in Aiyya and even appeared as a police officer in Aurangzeb, starring Arjun Kapoor. It has been three years since Aurangzeb and we wonder what this hot hunk is waiting for? Get back to B- Town already.
Before venturing into Bollywood with Dum Maaro Dum opposite Bipasha Basu, this handsome hunk was the leading actor in the Telugu film industry. He still is. After his debut he went on to do movies like Department, Baby and a cameo in Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani. He is still basking in the success of Baahubali, we think.
Asin, who was quite popular down south, had a big dream debut in Bollywood opposite Aamir Khan in Ghajini for which she took home a couple of awards that year. She later went on to star in films opposite big stars such as Salman Khan, Ajay Devgn and Akshay Kumar.
The man who made us all sing along to Kolaveri Di made his Bollywood acting debut in Raanjhanaa opposite Sonam Kapoor. Rajinikanth’s son-in-law and Tamil superstar, Dhanush even starred opposite Amitabh Bachchan in Shamitabh. We want more of this talented actor.
These were some of the South stars who arrived in Bollywood with the dream of making it big here. Who do you think should stay in Bollywood for good?
