It was the year 1926 when a certain anthropomorphic teddy bear entered our lives and he, along with his friends, not only made Christopher Robin's life colorful but also added a lot of color to our lives. Created by A. A. Miller, Winnie the Pooh is a renowned name in the world of teddy bears and his yellow body and love for honey is unmistakable. Along with a lot of cuteness, Pooh also possessed some innocent wisdom as he viewed the world without the cynicism, which came with adulthood and those life lessons stayed with us for generations.
A. A. Miller based Winnie-the-Pooh (the hyphens were later removed when Disney bought the rights) on his son's teddy bear. The name Winnie comes from a black bear while Pooh came from a swan. The original Winnie-the-Pooh did not look like the image we see today but like a generic teddy bear. Disney bought the rights to the characters in 1966 and Winnie the Pooh underwent a massive transformation, along with his friends. Although this team of animals continues to entertain us, there are some pearls of wisdom hidden within.
Today is the 91st anniversary of this adorable character and we thank him for all the wisdom he shared, which has made our childhood better.
