F and F franchise has come a long way since the first film released in 2001. Twelve years on and the 6th ambitious film (Fast and Furious 6) releases this weekend. With two other short films that were tied in neatly after the first and second film, the popularity of this 8 film series is only growing.
Since the introduction of agent Luke Hobbs played by none other than Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, the franchise seems to have taken a fresh new turn for the better. ‘Drifting’ away from the street racing concept and moving towards a heist franchise involving super fast and powerful cars, heart-racing action and more crowd pleasing characters and humor.

The Fast and the Furious (2001):
About: Officer Brian O’Conner (Paul Walker) goes undercover to infiltrate an underworld subculture of Los Angeles street racers Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel) and gang. He has to make a tough choice as his racer friends become prime suspects.
The Highlight: Adrenaline pumping races and a peep into the notorious street racing culture.

2 Fast 2 Furious (2003):
About: Officer Brian O’Conner (Paul Walker) is on the run after letting Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel) escape. He has to now team up with agent Monica Fuentes (Eva Mendes) to bring down a drug lord.
The Highlight: The addition of some much required humor.

The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift (2006):
About: The story ‘drifts’ to the uber-cool drift racing scene in Tokyo where Alabama teenager Sean Boswell becomes a major competitor.
The Highlight: The addition of Sung Kang as Han to the series.
What’s Hot? The amazing rebuilt 1997 Mazda RX-7 that Han uses.
Fast & Furious (2009):
About: Toretto and team along with O’Conner help bring down a heroin importer.
The Highlight: Vin Diesel returns. The original cast members reprise their roles.
What’s Hot: The destroyed ride is remade. Behold the dazzling new 1970 Dodge Charger R/T. Jordana Brewster somehow looked even hotter.
Fast Five (2011):
About: Toretto is broken out of custody is one of the most explosive scenes in the series. The franchise moves away from street racing and concentrates on heists.
Highlight: The action packed and highly entertaining ensemble cast.
What’s Hot? Hottie Gisele Yashar kicks some serious butt.
Fast & Furious 6 (2013):
