Women have started to stand up for things, for their rights, for equality and for themselves, on a whole new level. One woman who is famously known for standing up is Aditi Mittal, she is a stand-up comedian after all. A famous one at that.
Aditi Mittal is one of the very first females in the Indian Comedy circuit. She is the first female to have a Netflix special called "Things They Wouldn't Let Me Say", she was the only female in the panel to discuss gender equality in the stand-up scene and how can anyone forget the only female at the AIB roast. She has been the first Indian comedian to do many things, many times. You can check out her Facebook page for all the only-one-to-do, the-first-to-do, and only-one-to-be-present kinda things in her bio. Hell, there are many of them.
Aditi also featured in Stand-up Planet, an American Documentary where she got the chance to meet and shake hands with the original Bill Cosby, Carl Reiner, Dane Cook, Bill Burr and Norman Lear, she hasn't washed her hands since, as she alleges. Not only American, she has also appeared in many Indian TV specials like Ripping the decade with Vir Das, Fools gold Awards with Cyrus Sahukar, Phenking News with Cyrus Broacha, and Jai Hind.
Apart from comedy she acts and writes. She was also one of the founding members of Ghanta Awards and The Filmfail Awards. She left her job in New York and moved to India. Yes, she is one of those people who take such decisions, but now that she is famous no Sharma or Khanna uncle is going to say anything. Aditi's jokes cover literally everything, even litter. And this doesn't end here; her list of talent goes on.
Mittal can speak English and Hindi and can understand Spanish and French. And if four languages aren't enough, she also has developed different personalities like Dr. Mrs. Lutchuke and Dolly Khurana. Dr. Mrs. Lutchuke was developed because Aditi didn't really like the way media portrayed sex and if you want a check on doctor's view on the same, tune into her Netflix special.
Mittal's emphasis on the topic makes it all the more hilarious and you can't help but understand her jokes. She is currently on a tour (and on Netflix) with her stand-up special and live stand-ups. You can always stream online but watching her live is a whole other deal altogether. And you can always book her shows here:
