Akshay Kumar is the most disciplined actor that we have in Bollywood. He has, time and again, through his reel and real activities, proved that he is a top Khiladi in doing social work too. If one observes his choice of films in the past three years, he is doing only realistic and socially relevant films, but without compromising the commercial aspect of filmmaking. Here, we will be listing down few of his reel and real activities that satisfied his appetite for social causes.
1) Toilet: Ek Prem Katha
The film is ready to hit the theatres on 11th August, 2017. In the film, he will be drawing our attention to the burning problem of open defecation. More than fifty-four percent of Indians do not have access to toilets. He had already discussed the concept of the film with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and has assured his full support to the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. The actor urged his fans too – Soch aur shauch dono sahi karo please.
In the R Balki directorial, he will be seen spreading awareness about menstrual hygiene in rural India. The film is based on Arunachalam Muruganantham, who invented low-cost sanitary napkins for rural and underprivileged women. The actor completed the shoot of Padman and the film will hit the theatres on 13 April, 2018.

1) Bharat Ke Veer
The actor launched an app and website called ‘BharatKeVeer’, along with Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, with an aim to reach out to the families of martyrs and slain soldiers financially. The initiative was lauded by every citizen and Akshay thanked the government for supporting him. So, now you know which platform to visit if you want to contribute to the same.
2) An insurance scheme for stuntmen and women
A first ever stuntmen insurance covers 380 stuntmen and women between the age group of 18 to 55. The scheme is the result of the efforts by Akshay and Dr Ramakanta Panda. The insurance amount will cover up to INR 6 lakhs for injuries, whereas in case of death, a sum of INR 10 lakhs will be given to the families of the deceased. Thanks to Akshay, the lives of stuntmen are now financially secured.
