Amar, Prem, Teja, Gogo, Raveena, Karishma, Bhalla, Robert, Mr. Bajaj… incase you are still guessing why you had to read so many names one after another, the answer is simple, all these names gave us viewers something to laugh about everytime we felt blue on any given day. That is the power of Andaz Apna Apna, the film that has since become a cult classic.
It is but a wonder, that it got a poor response from the Indian audience in the year of its release (1994). Such epicness, such awesomeness, all rolled into one film that is dear to so many people, so much so, that it may just be a pre-requisite for someone to like you enough to befriend you. As though there is a clause called as ‘must-like Andaz Apna Apna’.
"Arrey yeh aap idhar-udhar kya dekh rahe hai, udhar-idhar dekhiye, udhar-idhar."
"Do dost ek pyaali mein chai peeyenge, isse pyaar badhta hai… wapas le jao, wapas le jao."
"Tum dono ka pyaar dekhkar mujhe Ramanand Sagar ki Ramayan ka woh episode yaad aa gaya jismein Ram-Bharat ka milaap hota hai."
"Teja main hoon, kyunki mera naam bhi Teja hai, mark idhar hai."
"Oranges lijiye naa."
"Crime Master Gogo, aankhen nikaal ke gotiyan khelunga."
"Sorry sir, galti se mistake ho gaya."
"Sir, lakh-lakh ke pachaas cheque honge."
"Bread ka Baadshah aur Omlette ka Raja, Bajaj… Humara Bajaj."
"Gogo Ji… Aapka ghaghra."
"Yeh Teja-Teja kya hai, yeh Teja-Teja?"
"Suno, suno Duniya ke logon, sabse bada hai Mr. Gogo."
"Bhabhi hogi teri, Shaadi hogi meri."
"Balki main toh kehta hoon ki aap purush hi nahi… mahapurush hai… mahapurush!"
"Yeh suit kahan se liya aapne, America se? Naa naa, New York se… Maine socha America se liya hoga."
"Muscle dekha muscle… masal ke rakh doonga."
"Shakal se to beedi ke kharkhane ka mazdoor lagta hai… saala choosa hua aam."
"Aaya hoon, kuch to loot kar hi jaunga… khaandani chor hoon main, khaandani… Mogambo ka bhatija, Gogo."
"Jab koi bachcha nahin sota, to uski maa kehti hai ki… soja, soja, soja nahin toh Gogo aa jayega."
