He charmed us with his rugged look, the mysterious devilish smile and his tevar. At his current trajectory, Arjun Kapoor is on course to become the next big star in Bollywood. And why not? He is the youngest actor in the 100 crore club!
As Arjun prepares to knock us out with his [email protected]*$ Kabaddi moves in Sanjay Kapoor’s Tevar, here’s a look at his terrific performances so far.
The fiery rebel: Parma Chauhan in Ishaqzaade
Arjun Kapoor is Parma, the crude grandson of the Chauhan family. He calls himself jhalla and gleefully loots local vendors and sets fire to their shops. Things change when he falls in love with the feisty Zoya (Parineeti Chopra) – daughter of the opposition party and a rival of the Chauhans. Even though Parineeti Chopra stole the thunder in Ishaqzaade, Arjun Kapoor made a noteworthy entry in Bollywood. With his stellar performance, he won the hearts of the critics as well as the audience.
The 21st century twins: Ajay/Vishal in Aurangzeb
If you thought the age-old formula of twins in films doesn’t work anymore, do watch this film. Arjun Kapoor once again proved his acting prowess in Aurangzeb. The film follows the story of two identical twins who were separated at birth. Sounds retro? It was great to watch Arjun Kapoor handle two personas with immense poise.
The lootera with the cool moves: Bala in Gunday
The bromance of Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor was the talk of the town after this film released. Though the media went all gung ho after Ranveer Singh and his hair, Arjun Kapoor still managed to reserve his strong fan base. But yes, together they rocked the big screens!
The adorable nerd: Krish in 2 States
It was refreshing to watch Arjun Kapoor as the nerdy Krish Malhotra in Abhishek Verman’s 2 States. Paired opposite the beautiful Alia Bhatt, Arjun made us go "awww" with the cute moments. After a slew of films where Arjun was mostly seen portraying rugged characters, 2 States gave us the perfect Bollywood chocolate boy. Krish was a mixture of blistering emotions and stunning charisma, and Arjun Kapoor brought out the best in him.
The boorish mechanic: Savio in Finding Fanny
Boiled down, Finding Fanny is my pick for Arjun Kapoor’s best performance so far. The film was a terrific showcase of Arjun’s flair for naturalism. Finding Fanny traces the story of five oddballs who embark on a road trip to find the lost love of Ferdi (Naseeruddin Shah). Homi Adjania gave us this rustic film on love and happiness. Arjun Kapoor plays the character of Savio, who is arrogant yet enigmatic. He definitely gave his best shot in the film.
This Superman of many avatars is all set to take us on a wild ride with his next release opposite Sonakshi Sinha. Do watch out for his blazing Tevar!
