We have mostly seen Nicolas Cage play intense roles in his films. This year, he has been in five films and one of those films is Army of One, which looks like an absolute laugh riot. In this film, Nicolas plays the role of an ex-con and handyman Gary Faulkner who gets a vision from God (played by Russel Brand) in which God tells him to go to Pakistan and capture Osama Bin Laden. Sounds crazy, isn’t it? Well, the crazy part is that it’s based on a true story! This actually happened in real life! An unemployed construction worker named Gary Faulkner, actually bought a sword from home shopping channel, which he took to Pakistan multiple times, in an attempt to kill Osama Bin Laden. Now, that’s a story!
To make a film on this, you definitely need a director who knows how to spin a comedy. That’s where Larry Charles, the director of films such as Borat, The Dictator, Brüno, and so on comes into the picture. Just by looking at the trailer, you could tell that this film is going to be fun to watch and you will be left gasping for air laughing. Nicolas’ avatar is absolutely crazy and his chemistry with his co-stars, Wendi McLendon-Covey, looks epic. This film also stars Rainn Wilson, Ken Marino, Denis O’Hare, and Paul Scheer, and the story of this film is co-written by the Pulitzer Prize finalist, Rajiv Joseph. So, to break your mid-week blues, watch this trailer.
Looks interesting, right? The film is going to be available online on 4th November. So, until then, brace yourself!
