Astonishing Asha’s Timeless Tunes

Asha Bhosle’s Twitter bio says ‘Singer since 1943’ and if this doesn’t prove how un-fading her charm and singing finesse is, then nothing will. In a career that spans more than six long and melodious decades, Asha ji has proven time and again her prowess in the Indian Music industry. She has worked on all forms of music, including Bollywood songs, pop music albums (who can forget ‘Raat Shabnami’ from the album Jaanam Samjha Karo?), ghazals, bhajans, traditional Indian classical music, folk songs, qawwalis, and Rabindra-sangeet. It will not come as a suprise then that the talented singer has countless awards on her mantelpiece, including the Dadasaheb Phalke Award and the Padma Vibhushan. She’s also acknowledged as the Most Recorded Artist in music history by the Guinness Book of World Records.

On her 82nd birthday, we wish the singer the very best. And for her fans, we have chosen a few of her timeless tunes. Enjoy!
