No Music Lover Should Miss The Vh1 Supersonic 2019 Lineup

Taking place in February each year, Vh1 Supersonic has made its name as the best multi-genre music festival in India. As most of the music festivals and concerts that take place happen to be limited to electronic dance music, Supersonic has created a space for fans who love all kinds of music. Vh1 Supersonic 2019 lineup has already been announced for phase 1 along with the hosts. The hosts will be MC Stretch and Rohit Barker for the latest edition and here are all the artists that will be performing:

The Headliners:

It’s a good news for Mello gang as Marshmello returns for another year to get the party started at Vh1 Supersonic. The American helmet wearing EDM artist has had a fabulous year with the release of his second studio album, Joytime II. His latest hit is a collaboration with the British band Bastille called Happier, and we couldn’t be happier to see him perform at Supersonic again.

This British musician’s songs combine world music and jazz influences to create an upbeat ambient feel which is different from the EDM you might be used to, but still perfect for dancing along. One of his biggest hits is Kerela, which is a track from his sixth album, Migration. Bonobo will be performing live with an eight-piece ensemble at the music festival.

Other Artists At Supersonic:

There are more international artists in the Vh1 Supersonic 2019 lineup. Some of them are the Amsterdam electronic band Cubicolor, the American instrumental rock band Polyphia, the Brazilian EDM duo Tropkillaz, and the British electronic artist Troyboi.

Apart from these, there are also going to be a host of Indian artists that will be performing at Vh1 Supersonic. The genre of these musicians is varied as well. Techno artists such as Arjun Vagale, Ash Roy, and Tuhin Mehta will be performing as well as the renowned blues band Blackstratblues along with electronic groups with their own unique sounds such as Lost Stories, BLOT!, Kohra, and Zaeden.

This is just the Phase I lineup and there are going to be a lot more artists at the music festival. Stay tuned for more announcements.

5 Things We Learned From The Avengers: EndgameTrailer

Marvel fans have been waiting for the trailer for the next Avengers film right after watching Avengers: Infinity War. After months of wait and lots of secrecy in which we didn’t know about even the title, the trailer has finally released. Here are the five things we learned from the trailer.

#1. The Title

While the trailer posted on YouTube didn’t have the title of the film, the title is revealed near the end. It’s called Avengers: Endgame. The Russo brothers had hinted that the title would be something that has been mentioned in earlier movies. Dr. Strange had mentioned that they are in the ‘endgame’ now right before he turned to dust in Infinity War.

#2. Hawkeye Survived The Snap

Hawkeye was very visibly missing from Avengers: Infinity War and we didn’t know his fate until now. He is shown in the trailer in a neon-lit place which seems to be somewhere in Asia. But that’s not all that’s changed – he doesn’t have his usual bow-and-arrow but rather a sword. He’s also in a hoodie – which is something other Avengers have done while they were undercover.

#3. Thanos Has Hung His Armor

The trailer shows a shot of Thanos in the same place as he was after the end of Infinity War. He has hung up his armor and is walking among the flowers while wearing what looks like the Infinity Gauntlet.

#4. Iron Man Isn’t Coming To Earth Any Time Soon

Avengers: Endgame trailer starts with Tony Stark recording a message for his wife, Pepper Potts.  In Infinity War, he was stranded on Titan. He had survived the snap along with Nebula who is with him and also seen in the trailer. He seems convinced he will not be coming home and it’s a touching farewell message.

#5. Ant-Man Is The Key

Ant-Man appears at the end of the Avengers: Endgame trailer. In Ant-Man and the Wasp, we had seen that the Pym family was close to discovering time travel. He was in the quantum realm at the end of the film so that might be reason why he survived the snap. We see him approaching Avengers, but that could have taken place during the events that took place near the end of Ant-Man and the Wasp.

Avengers: Endgame is scheduled to release on 26th April 2019.

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse: Film Review – Swings Into Perfection

Verdict:  A soaring proof that too much of Spider-Man can be a good thing.

We’ve seen Spider-Man multiple times on screen now, with each time being a reboot starting fresh from the start. But Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse acknowledges Sam Raimi‘s original trilogy and even The Amazing Spider-Man. Instead of showing us the same old story, it weaves a completely new web. Co-directed by Bob PersichettiPeter Ramsey, and Rodney Rothman and with the creative minds of Phil Lord and Chris Miller (who were also behind 21 Jump Street and The Lego Movie), it’s a completely new take on the most familiar superhero.

What’s Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse About:

Miles Morales (Shameik Moore) is your average 16-year-old whose life is filled with homework, a bit of graffiti, and a little friction within his family. He gets bit by a radioactive spider and when an inter-dimensional portal opens up, he comes to learn that there is more than one Spider-Man. With the help of another dimension’s Peter Parker (Jake Johnson), he has to learn how to be Spider-Man and stop the whole multiverse from collapsing from the collider controlled by Kingpin (Liev Schriber).  Joining them is Gwen Stacy (Hailee Steinfeld) from “another, another dimension”, a black-and-white Spider-Man Noir (Nicolas Cage) who comes from the 1930s, an anime-style Peni Parker (Kimiko Glenn) who fights with a giant robot, and Spider-Ham (John Mulaney) the pig who was bitten by a spider.

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse Film Review - BookMyShow Blog

What Works:

With so many superhero films catering to a wide audience, it’s easy to forget the comic book origins but not with this film. Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse dives headfirst into its roots by having an animation style that has the breathless energy of a kid flipping through pages of a comic combined with trippy visuals that set it apart from other superhero films. The hip-hop score with ample record-scratching also helps make the film more modern.

The narrative also manages to tie together a diverse cast of characters. It’s not just limited to the different Spider-Men, Spider-Women, or Spider-Animal. Our central hero Miles has a fully fleshed-out home life with his African-American father (played by Brian Tyree Henry) who is a cop, a Latino mother (Luna Lauren Velez) who is a nurse, and a distant uncle (Mahershala Ali) who has grown apart from the rest of the family. The best part is that none of them fall into standard superhero tropes. Even the different villains make choices that would surprise you. And when our heroes and villains fight, you get to see some of the finest animated fight scenes to ever be on screen.

The comedy in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse has been executed brilliantly. The jokes keep delivering right until the literal end of the film (there’s a post-credits scene worth staying back for). There are also plenty of throwbacks for the fans of the previous films. You’ll get to see Aunt May (Lily Tomlin) and Mary Jane (Zoë Kravitz).

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse Film Review - BookMyShow Blog

What Could’ve Been Better:

The only complaint that we have is that we didn’t get to see enough of the different versions of Spider-Man, which we hope will be corrected with a rightfully deserved sequel.

Why You Should Watch:

Even if you’ve somehow managed to avoid all Spider-Man movies until now, this is the best one yet and that’s why it deserves a watch. It’s a superhero film done right with a central theme that doesn’t lose its path along the way. Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse will make you fall in love with our friendly neighborhood hero all over again.

If You Liked These 5 Movies, Bumblebee Must Be on Your Watch List

After Michael Bay‘s departure from the franchise, Transformers is all set to bring out its latest film under new direction with Bumblebee. A prequel that’s also a spin-off, this film will be releasing in theaters this January 4. Director Travis Knight will be adding some heart to the franchise as we see Bee’s humble origins from when he was Hailee Steinfeld‘s car long before he met Shia LeBeouf‘s character. But of course, there’s a lot more happening as we’ll see some more popular Transformers like Optimus Prime, Shatter, and Dropkick pack in the action in the upcoming film. If this hasn’t convinced you to add Bumblebee to your watchlist yet, we have some similar films that will change your mind.

Before the Transformers franchise got too complicated to follow with time jumps, multiple storylines, and its several lead characters, Transformers had a special place. It was the introduction for many to the world of these giant robots that could turn into cool cars and even help out a guy land a date with Megan Fox. Bumblebee is sure to bring back the wonder of the first film.

The Iron Giant

Featuring one of the sweetest giant robots ever, The Iron Giant was the directorial debut of Brad Bird (the same guy who’s behind The Incredibles). It shows how a strong director can have a hand in making a film that has had such long-lasting popularity that it was even a major part of this year’s Ready Player One.

Kubo and the Two Strings

Speaking of directorial debuts, Kubo and the Two Strings was the debut of Bumblebee director Travis Knight. While it may have been just an animated film, it had stunning action sequences and it was even nominated for two Oscar awards. We’re sure that with Bumblebee, we’ll get an emotional core that was very prominent in this film.

Big Hero 6

Bumblebee isn’t just about the robots, it’s also about the meaningful connection shared between a human and a robot. Big Hero 6 showed how Hiro and Baymax became such close friends that they would do anything for each other. Bumblebee also comes to earth to protect humans but he seems to forge a greater bond with Charlie (Hailee Steinfeld).

Real Steel

Real Steel is another film that features fighting robots. While these are built by humans to fight in boxing rings, there’s plenty of action that comes with it. After all, there can’t be a movie with giant robots without us seeing how well they can fight each other and humans. Real Steel also had some great performances, most notably by Hugh Jackman, and in Bumblebee, we’re looking forward to some equally great acting by Hailee Steinfeld and John Cena.

Don’t forget to read more about Bumblebee movie here and watch the trailer below:

6 Super Spider-Heroes You’ll See In Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse

If you’ve only followed the adventures of our friendly neighborhood Spider-Man through his Hollywood appearances, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is going to be a surprise for you. If you’re one who’s religiously read all the comics, you already know the characters. But for the rest, prepare to see many awesome avatars from different universes when the movie releases on 14th December.

The Spider-Verse doesn’t just have Peter Parker as Spider-Man, there is an alternate reality where a teenager named Miles Morales got bit by a spider and got superpowers. But he’s not going to be alone. In the first animated movie adaptation, you will see many men, women, and animals who are all alternate versions of Spider-Man and team up against a threat to all reality. Here are the six super Spider-Heroes you’ll definitely see in the film:

Miles Morales

Voiced by Shameik Moore, Miles Morales is an average teenager who gets some not-so-average superpowers. He fights the bad guys, and even has a nice homemade suit – but when Peter Parker who is Spider-Man in another dimension meets him, things get really interesting for him. The one difference between them is that his parents aren’t dead.

Peter Parker / Spider-Man

Peter Parker is the classic Spider-Man that we all know and love. Everything that you know about him has happened to him – he’s even shared the upside-down kiss with Mary Jane Watson. He’s mastered everything there is to know about being Spider-Man and now he’s here to tutor Miles. He’s voiced by the beloved comic actor Jake Johnson.

Gwen Stacy / Spider-Gwen

We’ve seen Gwen Stacy as Peter Parker’s love interest in movies before by Bryce Dallas Howard in Spider-Man 3 and by Emma Stone in The Amazing Spider-Man movies. But here, she’s the one with the superpowers. She’s seen playing drums and jumping off buildings looking even cooler than we could’ve expected. Hailee Steinfeld is voicing Gwen in the film.

1930s Peter Parker / Spider-Man Noir

This version of Spider-Man is a stark contrast to the others – the rest are colorful while he’s in black-and-white depicting the noir style. He will be voiced by Nicolas Cage, which makes us even more eager to see what this character will be like in Spider-Verse.

Spider-Man Marvel GIF - Find & Share on GIPHY

Peni Parker / SP//dr

Peni Parker is a nine-year-old girl who gets bit by a radioactive spider to bond with the SP//dr suit’s CPU that his father had died wearing. SP//dr looks unlike any of the others as it’s a giant mech armor and the others wear bodysuits. She is voiced by Kimiko Glenn.

Spider-Man Marvel GIF - Find & Share on GIPHY

Peter Porker / Spider-Ham

What happens when you mix a spider and a pig? You get Spider-Ham. Peter Porker is half-pig and half-spider and voiced by one of the most renowned contemporary comedians – John Mulaney. We already hear him crack a few funny lines in the trailer and there are sure to be more in the film.

Apart from this, there might be some other versions of Spider-Man that we see in the film that the makers are keeping a secret.

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse: Film Review – Swings Into Perfection

Which Spider-Man Would Win In An Actual Multiverse Battle?

Spider-Man is one of the most beloved superheroes around the world. The very first Spider-Man film that came out in 2002 even ushered in the superhero era. Since then, we’ve seen many different versions of the hero in movies. There have been three actors who have played him, and now we’re even getting our very first animated Spider-Man on the big screen with Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, which comes out December 14 this year. While there is no way to decide which of these portrayals is the best, it can be decided which of them would win if they all had to fight each other.

Here are our four contenders:

Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man

Sam Raimi’s attempt to bring Spider-Man to the big screen with Tobey was a massive hit. This Peter Parker is perhaps the strongest of them all as we saw him stop a train with his webs in the second film. He lacks fancy suits but makes up for it with his strength and experience. As no other superheroes exist in this universe, he has had to rely on himself to fight the supervillains that threaten the city and the lives of those he loves. He’s fought Green Goblin, Doctor Octopus, Sandman, and Venom – all without much help from anyone else.

Spider-Man Battle - BookMyShow Blog

Andrew Garfield’s Amazing Spider-Man

The Sony reboot changed a few things about the superhero. Andrew Garfield’s Peter Parker more technologically advanced and builds a custom suit all by himself that’s more durable than the one we’ve seen before. He even creates his own web shooters out of old watches. He’s fought Lizard, Electro, and Green Goblin. So he may not be as strong as Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man, but he can have the upper hand strategically.

Spider-Man Battle - BookMyShow Blog

Tom Holland’s MCU Spider-Man

The friendly neighborhood superhero in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is played by Tom Holland. This Peter Parker played by the youngest actor we’ve seen yet and his actions are also close to what a true high-schooler’s behavior. While he can defeat enemies in combat, he has the least experience fighting villains, and even needed Iron Man’s help to truly defeat Vulture. He may have the advantage of having the most powerful suit built by Iron Man, he lacks one crucial ability that others have: the Spidey sense.

Spider-Man Battle - BookMyShow Blog

Miles Morales’ Spider-Man (Voiced By Shameik Moore)

Into the Spider-Verse is the first Spidey film we’ll see whose main character’s alter-ego isn’t Peter Parker. He’s Miles Morales, a normal high school teenager with spider-like abilities, and he’s tutored by Peter Parker, who is a Spider-Man from another universe. As this film has multiple versions of Spider-Man, we’ll only take the lead into consideration. Considering that he’s around the same age as the MCU version, they are likely to have similar skills, except he has the advantage of Spidey Sense, but he doesn’t seem to have a super suit that we know of.

Spider-Man Battle - BookMyShow Blog

The Verdict:

Knowing all their strengths and weaknesses, it becomes clear who the most powerful one is. If they fight without any special suits, Tobey Maguire’s version would be the winner. With the suits, nobody can come close to Tony Stark’s genius and Tom Holland’s MCU version would have the upper hand. If Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man could have the superhero suit made by Stark, he’d be nearly unbeatable. But while Miles Morales’ version might not have fancy suits or strength, what he has is a team of many, many different avatars of the superhero. If they’re all allowed to use advantages and Miles can get his team together, he would be the Spider-Man to ultimately win, which is only fitting as he is featured in the Ultimate Comics: Spider-Man books.
