Ghosts are always scary. Especially when you’re alone at your home. But, you’ve got another thing coming when the ghost in your house is perverted as well as sexually starved! Scarily, some moments of the movie are ironically funny.
Harhsa (Harshvardhan Rane) and Mohini (Poorna) are a newly wed couple who move into a new house that is not only located far away from civilization but also has only two other families staying in the entire colony. Directed by Ravi Babu (who also played the role of the randy ghost Captain Raju), this so-called suspense/ thriller is a total letdown. Harsha goes off to Bangalore due to a work emergency, leaving Mohini alone at home. Mohini is being constantly watched by Captain Raju, whether she is bathing, getting dressed or preparing food. Fortunately, for the viewers the ghost is shown as an invisible entity, so whatever he is upto is thankfully not shown and the audience can imagine whatever they would like to.
The movie is filled with idiosyncrasies. It’s like a concoction of multiple horror stories. Some of them include Raazand Paranormal Activity among others. This movie was supposed to scare audiences, but unfortunately it will end up making them laugh and cringe at the same time. The background score could have been better, but there were some rare moments that would make the audience shudder. Overall, as a concept, this story is not all that bad but the way the movie was made was outright atrocious. Unnecessary scenes, dry jokes and a child who could see these ghosts made this movie an atrocity to watch.
Ranga, played by Chalapthi Rao, was the only role that deserved any applause. Rest of the actors did not really act. Mohini looked like she was traumatized even before Captain Raju’s ghost had started doing things to her. Her character in general will remind you of those annoying, gnawing, nagging wives. Harsha didn’t have much of a role to play, whatever he did have was quite unbearable. The movie wasn’t really up to the mark. It definitely could have done better if it were directed well and written well.
Verdict: A movie with bad direction and a sexually starved ghost. You can afford to give this one a miss.
