The Awards season is almost here. While earlier this month, stars graced the Red Carpet of the Critics’ Choice Awards, what followed was an influx of nominations for the Golden Globes and the Screen Actors Guild. The biggest player in the game – the Academy Awards (more famously known as The Oscars) – are still to announce their nominations. Meanwhile, Hollywood is prepping up for yet another Awards season, which includes plenty of new actresses and actors in the race for the trophy, while veterans like Meryl Streep are simply enjoying their yearly nominations.

In the age of technology, the competition only seems to be getting tougher, and filmmakers are rising to the challenge of making out-of-this-world movies. While films like La La Land have stunned us with their beauty, the performances in Lion have touched our hearts. We bring you the best films of 2016, which are competing with each other in the biggest categories of all. Take a look and let us know your pick for the awards.
