Venkatesh as ACP Krishna is an absolute treat to watch. One wonders what he does to remain glamorous after 30 years. His performance in Babu Bangaram is the best he has delivered. Be it comic timing, emotional scenes, action episodes or dance sequences, he has excelled in all crafts of acting. Nayanthara looked slim and beautiful in the character of Sailaja. The whole story runs around this character. Prithviraj as Bathayi Babji gave a rocking performance and will be seen in almost the entire first half. The Nannaku Prematho spoof worked big-time and had the theater in splits. Posani Krishna Murali as the MLA is another character that brought the comedy in the second half. Brahmananandam as the magician will be seen in the later part of the second half and his scenes worked well after a long time. Sampath Raj as the antagonist suited his role. The rest of the cast was adequate.
Right from his first movie, Maruthi was able to churn out wholesome entertainers and was successful almost every time. With Babu Bangaram, he has added one more success story to his career graph. Hats off to him for getting the best out of Venky, and for his idea of recreating Bobbili Raja’s superhit song as the background score for the climax fight. Music and background score by Ghibran are excellent and so is the photography by Richard Prasad. All the frames looked rich. Editing by S.B. Uddav is neat.
Why You Should Watch This Movie:
Babu Bangaram is a complete joy ride for the audience with equal doses of all emotions. Venky is full of energy and his fans are in for a visual treat of their hero on screen.
