Back With a Bang!

South sensation Arvind Swamy is an actor who has had his share of the limelight. The suave model-turned-actor became a household name post his debut in Mani Ratnam’s Thalapathi. His performances in Roja and Bombay set his career on an envious trajectory and Swamy became a huge hit, especially among the ladies. The actor, still only in his early twenties, came to be known as the poster boy of the South with his romantic roles. Apart from Tamil films, he also starred in Hindi films like Saat Rang Ke Sapne and Raja Ko Rani Se Pyar Ho Gaya. However in 2000, this lover boy decided to step away from the film industry and stardom, with no intentions of making a comeback. Thereafter, the actor met with an accident that left him partially paralyzed. But it was ace director Mani Ratnam who refused to leave his side and motivated him to get back in shape.

Taking it up as a challenge, Swamy got back in shape and made a comeback in Ratnam’s Kadal in 2013. Post that, he gave another smashing performance as the anti-hero in the Tamil film, Thani Oruvan. The much-loved actor is now all set to make his Bollywood comeback after 15 years with his upcoming film, Dear Dad. Looking fit as ever in his new hot-hunk avatar, the actor impresses in the trailer of his forthcoming film.

Dear Dad , is a coming of age drama in which Swamy will be seen playing the role of a father to a 14-year-old boy. The film revolves around the bittersweet journey that ensues when the father-son duo takes off on an impromptu road trip to Mussorie.

Directed by debutant Tanuj Bhramar and starring Himanshu Sharma, Ekavali Khanna and Aman Uppal, the film is will be out in theatres this Friday. It will be interesting to see Swamy essay this intriguing role and from the looks of the trailer, his performance as a loving father is definitely going to leave an impact on our hearts.
