The latest news in the tinsel town is that 2010 Bollywood rom com, Band Baaja Baaraat, which opened gates of filmdom for the debutant director Maneesh Sharma along with star Anushka Sharma and the newcomer Ranveer Singh is gearing up for its second innings in South India. The movie will be remade in Tamil and Telugu after the commercially and critically successful Hindi version. Produced and distributed by Yash Raj Films, the movie was based on the concept of wedding planning.
The untitled film went on floors by May end and has completed its first schedule in Chennai. The next shooting schedules for the Tamil movie is being planned for Hyderabad and Mysore. Tamil movie tickets and the Telugu movie tickets for this movie is expected to sell of super fast. The southern version of the movie will be featuring acclaimed actore Nani along with debutant Vani Kapoor in lead roles and will be directed by Gokul Krishna. Produced by Aditya Chopra, the Tamil movie & Telugu movie versions are the first of many new ventures to come from YRF in regional content.
