A tale as old as time is being made into a live-action film, and by the looks of the trailer, it looks spectacular. From the beautifully-designed costumes to minute details that went in to capture a lush and a grand appeal of the sets and props, perfectly retain the grandeur of the Disney’s 1991 animated movie, Beauty and the Beast.
Emma Watson, who we fondly remember for playing the highly-intelligent, Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter series will now play the role of the elegant yet witty, Belle. While, Dan Stevens from the hit British drama series Downton Abbey will play the role of the Beast. When these two talented actors come together on screen and you notice their chemistry in the trailer, you know that the casting is on point, and the film is on track to be a blockbuster like The Jungle Book (the live-action film).
The director Bill Condon, who is known for films such as Dreamgirls, Mr. Holmes, Twilight, etc. has tried his best to retain the original story in this live-action film. The introduction of the supporting cast, the Beast’s servants, such as Lumiere (Ewan McGregor), Mrs. Potts (Emma Thompson), and Cogsworth (Ian McKellen), will remind you of the original animated movie and make you all the more nostalgic.
If you still haven’t seen the trailer, here’s where you can watch it.
Also, save the date – March 17, 2017 when Beauty and the Beast will hit theatres.
