This year has been an average one so far for Bollywood. Barring films like Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Tanu Weds Manu Returns, Piku and Badlapur, most films failed to make a mark at the box office. However, a look at some releases lined up in the next few months raises hope. Some of the biggest movies of the year are slated to release before 2015 ends. There are various reasons to look forward to these movies – big ticket directors, adored Bollywood couples returning onscreen and just the curiousity around some hyped collaborations. Here are the films that are definitely going to garner audience interest and hopefully should set the cash registers ringing at the box office:
Vikas Bahl‘s last film was Queen starring Kangana Ranaut. Need we say more? Shaandaar has Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt in the lead roles. The film also stars Shahid‘s real-life father – Pankaj Kapoor and marks the debut of his sister – Sanah Kapoor.
Release Date: 22nd October
Prem Ratan Dhan Payo
Salman Khan has already had a blockbuster with Bajrangi Bhaijaan this year. The film released on Eid, something that has always proved to be lucky for the superstar and this year he has booked the Diwali slot too with Prem Ratan Dhan Payo. The film also stars Sonam Kapoor, Armaan Kohli, and Neil Nitin Mukesh. Salman returns to the Barjatya camp after years and everyone is just too eager to watch the star play ‘Prem‘ again.

The Ranbir-Deepika jodi is back. After sizzling the screen in Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, they will now be seen in Imtiaz Ali‘s Tamasha. Both actors have worked with Imtiaz before (Ranbir in Rockstar and Deepika in Love Aaj Kal). The film is a love story and AR Rahman has composed the soundtrack. This promises to be an interesting one.

There are so many reasons to be excited about this film. For one, it’s a Rohit Shetty film. Second, Rohit and Shahrukh Khan‘s last collaboration – Chennai Express was a huge entertainer. Lastly, the biggest reason to watch this movie is the return of Shahrukh and Kajol together onscreen after five years. Their last film together was Karan Johar‘s My Name is Khan.

This film is Sanjay Leela Bhansali‘s second outing with Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone. He previously directed them in the epic love story – Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela (2013).
