Recently, there were reports of Aamir Khan showing interest in a biopic of the legendary singer, Kishore Kumar. The film was supposed to be made by Anurag Basu, starring Ranbir Kapoor. But, unfortunately, things didn’t materialise, and they shelved the project. Ranbir, on the other hand, is prepping to play Sanjay Dutt in Rajkumar Hirani’s next. Actors love portraying real-life characters, as such films have a lot of scope for showcasing their acting prowess. A lot of praise and strong chances to win awards is a great byproduct. Based on the brave flight attendant, Neerja Bhanot, the film stars Sonam Kapoor in the leading role. The trailer is already out and has met with a positive response.
Dhoni: The Untold Story
Known for films like Special 26, A Wednesday and Baby, director Neeraj Pandey’s next is on India’s most successful cricket captain, Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Sushant Singh Rajput is playing the lead role, and the film hits the theatres on 2nd September.
Another sports biopic, Azhar, stars Emraan Hashmi as the tainted cricketer, Mohammed Azharuddin. Prachi Desai will play his love interest and the film is produced by Ekta Kapoor.
Randeep Hooda is all set to play the role of Sarabjit, a man who was accused of terrorism and spying. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has signed the role of his sister, and the project is helmed by Omung Kumar of the Mary Kom fame.
Kangana Ranaut is in the best phase of her career, and one of her upcoming movies is the biopic of Rani Laxmibai. The actress will essay the role of the warrior queen, and has stated that it will be one of her best works.
