Celebrities have always been trendsetters. They know what they should wear (or at least their designers do) and how to carry themselves. But sometimes more than the designers, a character they play in a movie sets fashion trends; unconventional and completely different from the actor’s own personality.
Case in point: Every cop who wouldn’t be seen without an Aviator after Dabangg released. Not just Salman; here are a bunch of actors (including Bhai) who have set trends that everyone followed:
Aviators, Chulbul Pandey – Dabangg
Let’s begin with the Aviator cop. Dabangg has probably set the world record (if there was any) of maximum people following the style. No cop has been seen without an aviator (day or night, regardless) after September 10, 2010.
Long Tee – Salwar, Geet – Jab We Met
Kareena has been setting trends since her debut, but the one that got the most recognition was the long-tee and salwar pairing from Jab We Met. The Sikhni from Bhatinda kept it simple and comfortable onscreen exactly as she likes in real life.
Ghajini Style, Sanjay Singhania – Ghajini
"Going bald? Why don’t you try the Ghajini Style?" This is what most barbers or friends say when you decide to go bald. Needless to say, after the Sadhna Cut, the Ghajini Cut has been the most famous of all.
Printed Skirt, Veronica – Cocktail
While solid colors and denims were in, Deepika dared to go all printed in Cocktail. She flaunted those printed skirts with all the glam she possesses. And since then every thing one could possibly wear comes in prints. Yes, everything!
Monokini, Harleen Sahani – Bang Bang
When the everyone was obsessed with bikinis, Katrina broke the movement and showed up in an elegant and sexy monokini in Bang Bang. Not only did she set the trend, many celebrities were seen shooting in very similar monokinis. (Sigh for those with baby fat)
Denim Shirt, Karan Singhania – Rang De Basanti
The whole world is going gaga over denims now. Just to clarify, the trend was already set in our sub conscious by Siddharth who wore them in his Bollywood debut Rang De Basanti.
Middle Partition Hair, Radhe Mohan – Tere Naam
The handsome hunk took to a hairstyle that led everyone to look twice at the screen to confirm if it is Salman Khan indeed, in the romantic-drama Tere Naam. The hairstyle was adopted by every other Bhai fan on the street; literally.
