Remaking classics is a fast-spreading trend in Bollywood. Though some old movies are better left untouched (Himmatwala!), we all wonder how some present-day Bollywood bigwigs would look in these movies. I mean, just imagine Shahrukh, Aamir and Salman as the new Amar, Akbar and Anthony- wouldn’t that be great? We bet you’d want to watch that.
With Subhash Ghai‘s romantic drama Hero getting a modern twist with Suraj Pancholi (playing Jackie Shroff’s role) and Athiya Shetty (playing Meenakshi Sheshadri’s role), we can’t wait to see some more classics back on screen. Here are some movies that we think deserve a modern-day remake right away!
Mr. India (Arjun Kapoor): Let’s say we keep it in the family and cast Arjun Kapoor in this remake. He’s young, wild and with that devil-like smile, he’s definitely right to be our new Mr. India!
Karan Arjun (Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor): If there are any actors who can replace the Shahrukh-Salman jodi, it’s Ranveer and Arjun. All thanks to their over-the-top bromance in Gunday, of course.
Andaz Apna Apna (Shahid Kapoor and Ranbir Kapoor): Both are extremely talented, funny and quick-witted, then why not cast them as the new Amar and Prem in Andaz Apna Apna?
Dil Hai Ki Manta Nahi (Alia Bhatt and Sidharth Malhotra): She’s cute and arrogant. He’s calm and composed. Oh, we were were referring to Pooja Bhatt and Aamir Khan, BTW. Gotcha! 😉
Seeta Aur Geeta (Katrina Kaif): ‘Cause two of Kat is definitely better than one! We’ve seen her play the damsel-in-distress in Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani and kick some butts in Bang Bang. Now, imagine the two together in Seeta Aur Geeta! #Doubledhamaka
Dream Girl (Deepika Padukone): She won our hearts as the dreamy girl in Om Shanti Om and we won’t be surprised if she did it again as the new Dream Girl. #ThoseDimples! 😀
Yes, these are some of the movies we’d love to see on screen again. Do you have a wish list? Let us know in the comments below.
