Bollywood Gupshup: May

The fifth month of the year has been rather disappointing for Bollywood. Most releases failed to impress and performed badly at the box-office. The two biopics, Azhar and Sarbjit were the most-hyped movies in the month of May, but both of them met with average reviews. While Emraan Hashmi‘s portrayal of the tainted cricketer, Mohammed Azharuddin, got a thumbs up, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan faced a lot of criticism for her over-the-top performance in Sarabjit Singh’s biopic. The month also had a fair share of controversies and a lot of cricket (IPL season). Read on to know the most talked-about developments in May.

Double Celebration for SRKSRK Suhana Aryan Khan

Shah Rukh Khan and family headed to London for his son, Aryan’s graduation ceremony. King Khan also had another reason to celebrate as it was his daughter, Suhana’s sixteenth birthday on May 22nd. Pictures of the celebrations were all over the internet.

Udta Punjab to be Banned?Shahid Kapoor Udta Punjab

The trailer of Udta Punjab featured abusive language, lots of cuss words and now the film has run into trouble with the Censor Board. The members of the Censor Board committee weren’t happy with the content of the Udta Punjab and asked for too many cuts, which could leave the film’s runtime to less than forty minutes. It is also reported that the film will most likely be banned in the state of Punjab

Karan Johar’s Lavish Birthday PartyKaran Johar 44th Birthday

Bollywood’s top producer, Karan Johar, turned forty-four on May 25th. Since Johar was in London, many of his friends decided to head there and celebrate his birthday. Some of the B-town folks who were seen at KJo’s birthday bash were Ranbir Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Sidharth Malhotra, Shah Rukh Khan, Ayan Mukherjee and Aarti Shetty.

Sultan Trailer Launched

This year, Bhai will once again have a film releasing on Eid. The trailer of the much-awaited movie, Sultan, was launched a few days ago. Salman Khan and Anushka Sharma were seen at launch while the supporting cast gave it a miss. Khan plays the role of a wrestler in the film, and from the looks of the trailer, Sultan promises to be another blockbuster Salman will add to his list of successes. 

Housefull 3 PromotionsHousefull 3 cast

Throughout the month, the cast of Housefull 3 attended various events and reality shows in order to promote their film. Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Jacqueline Fernandez and Lisa Haydon were mainly spotted at the promotional activities. Nargis Fakhri, on the other hand, isn’t promoting the movie as she left for the US due to poor health.
