The New Year is just around the corner, and it’s time to start making another list of resolutions that we are all likely to break sooner than later. Like us, Bollywood stars too make New Year resolutions and we are sure they stick to it, at least longer than we do. While no Bollywood celebrity has revealed their NY resolution so far, here’s what we think our favorite stars need to resolve to change about themselves in 2018:
Shah Rukh Khan: Give up romance; become the next ‘Bhai’ of Bollywood.
He may be the King of Romance, but if there is something we realized this year, it’s that SRK can be the next Salman Khan. His blockbuster hit of the year – Raees – saw SRK in the main role in a movie all about him. His next – Jab Harry Met Sejal – had him back in the romantic avatar, and we sure did not enjoy it as much. Don 3 might just give us what we want.
Salman Khan: Stop promoting new talent and focus on himself.
He is known for ‘being human’ towards several struggling actors and actresses in Bollywood. Very few of them have made a career to be proud of, but that hasn’t stopped Bhai from promoting new talent every now and then – his brother-in-law Aayush Sharma being the next. We hope 2018 is the year Salman focusses on himself, especially after the success of Tiger Zinda Hai.
Deepika Padukone: Feature in indie films and not just the big productions.
Deepika looks great in every film, but it’s the lesser-known ones that portrayed her acting talent. Next year, Deepika will be back with Padmavati – another grand production – but with the delays in the release date, we miss watching Deepika on screen. We wish for her to take up more small-budget films while continuing to fight for the release of the epic.
Priyanka Chopra: Don’t give up on Bollywood.
PeeCee’s last Bollywood film – Jai Gangaajal – released almost two years ago. Since then, the international actress has been focused on her TV show and other Hollywood projects. Her last – Baywatch – may not have been her best, but this is only the beginning of her career abroad. We hope PeeCee turns her attention towards more Bollywood films, where she is sorely missed.
Kareena Kapoor Khan: Impress on-screen while continuing to do so off-screen.
Ever since she became a mommy, Kareena has been in the news for several reasons. Her appearances at parties, being spotted with Taimur, losing weight, gym looks – these have become synonymous with the Begum. We have almost forgotten that Kareena is also a great actress, and 2018 can be the year she rebuilds that image.
Varun Dhawan: Be a real role-model.
Varun is gradually becoming a superstar, competing with the big boys of Bollywood. It’s time he steps up his game and becomes a ‘responsible’ actor, known for doing relevant films. While movies from Student of the Year to Judwaa 2 have helped build his fanbase, he can now be a role model to millions by choosing the right kind of films – the way Akshay did.
Kangana Ranaut: Let the films do the talking.
Kangana is probably one of the best actresses in Bollywood today, but she is still thriving on the success of Queen and Tanu Weds Manu. This year, the actress has been in the news for several reasons – none of them have been about her movies. Yes, Kangana is in need of a makeover, and the only way she can get it is by delivering another blockbuster where she impresses more than ever.
Ranveer Singh: Pop the question.
He has always impressed with his acting skills and we cannot get enough of his antics off-screen either. So what are we expecting from Ranveer this year? Only one thing seems to be left on his to-do list: pop the question and give us another celebrity wedding in 2018.
