Bollywood celebs are rarely in the news for their philanthropic acts. But this is not due to the lack of them. In fact, many celebrities have done their bit to share their wealth and happiness with those in need. Salman Khan’s Being Human stays on top of one’s mind when thinking about charitable celebrity organizations, even though most of us may not know what Being Human actually does, other than selling T-shirts. Apart from Salman, Aamir Khan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Amitabh Bachchan are popular for their philanthropy. Here’s a list of more celebs from B-town who you may not have known were involved in charity:
Dia Mirza

When the actress is not shooting for a movie, which is most of the times, she is involved with many charitable organizations such as PETA, CRY, Cancer Patients Aid Association, Spastics Society of India, and more. She has rallied for the cause of women’s rights, animal rights and the Narmada Bachao Andolan.
Gul Panag

The actress is a frontline advocate for gender equality. The Colonel Shamsher Singh Foundation, run by her, is involved in the cause. The NGO also works for addiction awareness, education, employment and disaster management.
John Abraham

John is a long-time supporter of PETA and Habitat for Humanity. He is also known for donating large sums of money to Lilavati Hospital and Research Centre. He often runs the marathon for charity, too.
