Read on to find out more about this superhero film and its character…

What does Chakra mean?
Chakra is a Sanskrit word, which translates to wheel. Chakras are referred to as the vital energy points (wheels of energy) of the body. There are seven important chakras in your body that maintain the energy flow and balance of your body.

Who is Chakra and what are his powers?
Coming back to the comic book, Stan Lee was inspired to create this character while he was having a chat with his friend, Sharad Devarajan (Co-Founder and CEO at Graphics India). He realized that India doesn’t have a superhero character. And that got him going to create Chakra.

This superhero character is a teenage boy named, Raju Rai, who is based in Mumbai. He is a tech genius, who along with his mentor, scientist Dr. Singh, develop a technologically advance body-suit that activates the mystical chakras of the body. That enhances his potential and gives him new found powers to fight the crime and battle super villains.

This film will feature the grown-up version of the character. That’s going to be interesting!

Wait a minute, isn’t there an animated film on this?
Yes, you are right! Chakra: The Invincible, was launched on Cartoon Network as an animated film for kids in the year 2013. But now, Vikramaditya is all set to create this live-action theatrical version of this film.

Will this Film Also Feature a Stan Lee Cameo?
Well, of course! Every Stan Lee film has to feature him in a cameo and it’s fun to spot him in the films. When asked the same to the director of the film, this is what he had to say, “(It’s an) honor and an absolute delight to be making a film based on a Stan Lee character. We’re very excited and we hope to take comic book filmmaking to the next level with Chakra. And no, we won’t forget Stan’s cameo.

Take on the director…
Vikramaditya is one of the talented directors and screenwriters of B-town. His debut film Udaan was shot well, and it showed a realistic view of the growing-up years of a teenage boy. No wonder he won several awards for the film. We feel that he will do similar justice to Chakra. Later, he also produced movies such as Queen, NH10, and Bombay Velvet, among others.

It’s not a fluke that the chief creative officer at POW! Entertainment also feels the same about the director. This is what he had to say, “I’m a fan of Bollywood films and I am really excited about launching Chakra: The Invincible as my first Bollywood superhero movie. Vikramaditya is an amazingly talented filmmaker who I have no doubt can make the Chakra film a massive hit in India and around the world. I only hope he remembers to include my cameo!".

What does Stan Lee think?
Stan Lee had created this character to expand his global reach and to give India its very own superhero character. Earlier when he had launched the comic, he felt that he should have done this a long time ago. He is someone who loves to create such characters. He thinks it will be fun to create and develop this Indian superhero just like his other iconic characters like Spider-Man.

Now that the news is out, all of us are excitedly looking forward for a first glimpse of this film. So to keep yourself updated on this, watch this space for more!
