Verdict: A pleasant everyday love story that manages to feel fresh and new.
Written and directed by lyricist-turned-director Krishna Chaitanya, Chal Mohan Ranga stars Nithiin and Megha Akash in the lead roles. The film is produced by Trivikram Srinivas, Pawan Kalyan, and Sudhakar Reddy. The music is given by S Thaman, while the cinematography is handled by Natarajan Subramaniam and editing by S R Shekhar.
WHAT'S CHAL MOHAN RANGA IS ABOUT:
Chal Mohan Ranga is the story of Mohan Ranga (Nithiin) who decides to go to the US at a very young age. After many struggles, he manages to get a visa. In a bid to find a job, he meets Megha (Megha Akash). As the story progresses, they become good friends and slowly, start falling for each other. As they decide to confess their love, many doubts arise in their minds. Yet, the love does not fade away. Watch the movie to know if they accept each other and end up together.
Chal Mohan Ranga is a love story wherein the characters misunderstand each other. The storytelling is what makes the movie different from the rest. The scenes are well visualized and the dialogues are witty. It progresses at a moderate pace, making it a pleasant watch. The characterization of the lead characters is well done and resonates with the audience. Even the music supports the story and quite a few songs are catchy. The movie is constantly supported by well-delivered performances by the cast and the comedians come in at the right time for a few good laughs.
WHAT COULD'VE BEEN BETTER:
The first half moves at a good pace but the second half keeps the audience waiting for the story to go somewhere. Some of the songs might seem a little distracting and stall the movement of the film.
WHY YOU SHOULD WATCH:
It is difficult to find a neat romantic comedy these days and Chal Mohan Ranga provides a pleasant surprise. It makes for a great watch from the beginning to the end. If you like simple stories with no melodrama, this one is for you.
