Arvind Swamy captivated everybody with his performance as the antagonist Siddharth Abhimanyu in his latest film, Thani Oruvan. But in real life, the actor is only doing good deeds. He’s establishing the act of giving!
The actor is the brand ambassador for ‘Chennai Gives’, an event initiated by the Madras Round Table 1. This initiative was organised to mark the occasion of International Day of Charity (September 5th). Arvind Swamy urged several people to give something back to society. It could be something as simple as donating unused items from your household – including toys and kitchen items.
The Madras Round Table 1 and mobile app-based taxi service Uber, in collaboration with Friends of Chennai, launched #ChennaiGives. The aim of the event is to encourage a policy of giving to the less fortunate.
Speaking about this drive, Puneet Gupta, Chairman, Madras Round Table I said, “The initiative has gone up tenfold than what we expected. We are now working even harder to ensure that all the items from our donors reach the beneficiaries. The city has supported this initiative to their fullest.”
Celebrities like Trisha, Jayam Ravi, Jyothika, Suriya, Dulquer Salmaan and chess champion Vishwanathan Anand have donated to the cause. Many celebrities took to their social pages to support the initiative.
