The twelfth edition of Kathakar International Storytellers Festival is a three-day celebration of the popular performance form.
The festival will begin with Buddhist chants by Grammy Award-winning monks from the Sherabling Monastery in Himachal Pradesh. Over the course of three days, listen to tales from Australia, India, Poland and the United Kingdom. ‘Kissey, Kahani aur Adakari’, a storytelling session with Manoj Bajpayee and Imtiyaz Ali is one of the highlights of the festival. An award-winning crew will perform the Ramayana in tholpavakoothu, a form of shadow puppetry from Kerala. Actors Rashmi Mann and Ruchita Tahiliani will perform Haryanvi folk tales as part of Qissebaazi, a storytelling project by Mumbai-based film and theatre actor Danish Husain.
