C’mon India, Let’s Football With Indian Super League

With just 26 days more, the countdown for the kick-off has started. Every soccer fan in India and across the globe is eagerly waiting for ‘the event of the year’ – the Indian Super League (ISL). Are you excited to lay hands on your set of ISL tickets?

The first-of-its-kind football tournament, ISL 2014 will feature eight franchise. Each team represent one city and will compete against each other in a series of match. The kick-offs are scheduled to happen from October 12, 2014 till December 20, 2014. Everyone is eager to know which franchise will take home the first-ever 2014 ISL winner’s title.

The eight teams participating in Indian Super League 2014 are:

1. Atlético De Kolkata
2. Chennaiyin FC
3. Delhi Dynamos FC
4. FC Goa
5. FC Pune City
6. Kerala Blasters
7. NorthEast United FC
8. Mumbai City FC

The opening match will be played by Atlético De Kolkata against Mumbai City FC. It will be happening on their home ground, Salt Lake Stadium, Kolkata. The inaugural match will be followed by 60 soccer games, before the first Indian Super League champion is decided. So all you die-hard soccer fans, get ready for your doze of soccer for two long months. And a football match is best enjoyed when you scream and cheer for your team, in person. So don’t forget to book your ISL tickets for your favorite team’s matches.

Officially known as Hero Indian Super League owing to sponsorship reasons, ISL is the much-awaited soccer championship. To put it simply, as IPL goes for cricket, ISL goes for football. ISL is the newly-found top tier soccer league. The existing league in India is I-League. Indian Super League was found last year with the purpose of popularizing the sport of football. Another major objective of ISL is to develop India into an international football entity. Adding more to the good news is the fact that the ISL will be telecast in five languages, namely English, Hindi, Malayalam, Bengali and Kannada. Conceptualized by IMG-Reliance, the kick-offs will be broadcast across eight channels.

So those of you who couldn’t lay their hands on ISL tickets, don’t be disheartened. The ISL 2014 matches will be streamed Live on StarSports.com as well.
