The Lakme Fashion Week Summer/Resort 17 wrapped up this weekend and we cannot seem to stop talking about it. Apart from the long list of celebrities who took to the runway for some of their favorite designers, we had several of the country’s top designers showcase their collections. While you may have heard of Kareena Kapoor walking for Anita Dongre or Sonakshi Sinha for Monisha Jaising, here are some other designers and their collections that particularly caught our eye.
While each show stood out from the other in its own unique way, we’ve listed down a few designers and their collections we cannot stop crushing on.
A brand we’ve followed closely and absolutely love, Antar-Agni by Ujjawal Dubey continued to win our hearts. Staying true to its original aesthetics with its details on smart cuts and silhouettes, their Summer/Resort 17 collection definitely had to be on our list.
Eka by designer Rina Singh presented a collection that felt like coming up for a breath of fresh air. A fusion of feminine silhouettes in summer hues with hints of floral, lace and embroidery, the collection was a perfect amalgamation of style and utility for Indian summers.
Payal Singhal’s Lady M collection with Diana Penty as showstopper gave us all the right feels. Taking us back a few decades, the collection derived inspiration from Agatha Christie’s ‘Death on the Nile’ and the dark-luxe designs with fringe, frills and motifs transferred us to la la land.
Back with a bang is a phrase that would best describe Kanoi’s Lost and Found in Africa collection. It comprised of blazers, saris and kaftans but with a twist.
Paridhi Jaipuria’s collection stood out on Day 5 amidst several other big guns. Keeping true to the brand's minimalistic designs with intricate details for the modern Indian woman, the collection was another one of our favorites.
Incase you missed watching, here are some of the latest trends from Lakme Fashion Week this year on BookMyStyle:
