Review: Para Commando betrayed by his nation’s politicians. Damsel in distress. Another cruel politician chasing her. Commando meets damsel, both tormented by politicians. He swears to save her. That’s the trailer and that’s the whole movie as well. Oh and yes, Commando has super-human powers (comes back from the dead etc.) It happens only in India! Damsel also delivers dialogues like “Karan aayega, woh wapas aayega”. This, while she has already seen him die. While she is delivering this dialogue (dramatic loud music playing), a 30-second montage of our super-human commando coming back from the dead. YEAH!
Commando is an action-packed video game that will please adrenaline junkies. It also has the pretty princess in the castle level, which is the last level you cross after a lot of goon-bashing, blood and gore. An Army that allows their best guy to fancy the Vivek Oberoi cut? Not that it looks bad. Vidyut Jamwal is a very good-looking guy. In fact, one would want to watch him on mute. The background score is jarring and loud. Since Jab We Met, people think adding a little Geet-like zing to the female lead makes it a better film. Maybe not.
Two very good-looking actors. One can perform death-defying stunts. The other manages a confidant debut. If you are not an action junkie, then wait for these two to find better scripts.
