He may be married and may be a doting father to the adorable Misha, but our crush on Shahid Kapoor is here to stay. He is the ultimate chocolate boy of Bollywood. He can dance, he can be romantic and he can be formidable, we have seen him do it all on the big screen. And every time he has managed to sweep us off our feet. On his 36th birthday, his wifey threw him a bash at their lavish Juhu house, keeping in mind Sasha’s low-cal and non-alcoholic diet. From Deepika Padukone to Katrina Kaif, everyone showed up for this high-on-star-value party.
Now before you think this is going to be about us spilling the beans about all the inside information from the party, let’s clarify. On his birthday this year, we have decided to declare our love to SK which is prevalent since his “Ankhon Mein Tera Hi Chehra” days. Yes, for that long now. So here’s an open letter to Shahid Kapoor (my HERO) from a true fan girl. (I am sorry Mira, but this is just going to be about Sasha).
Let me tell you a story -a real life story that began from what I saw in a music video. You appeared on the TV screen with your dimpled smile with your first music album and there was an instant connection. I am sure there are loads of other girls who would agree with me on this. You got us gushing over your way of approaching the girl of your dreams.
Next, you were seen in your first big screen entertainment, Ishq Vishk and you simply stole our hearts. Rajiv grew on to us to the extent that we have watched the movie every time we felt low (and this implies even today *blushes*).
What sets you apart from the rest of the biggies in the industry is your charm and your dance moves, which have made their way right to our heart. Here’s giving you three of the many reasons why we absolutely love you and your work.
An ace actor and dancer:
It is not a revelation that you are an excellent actor and have only improved with each film. Your work in movies like Haider and Udta Punjab has been critically acclaimed for only the right reasons. Same goes for your dancing skills; those moves make us go gaga and we can’t stop swooning over them.
For those who know a tad bit about your life before you became a star, they would know that you started off as a background dancer in the Shiamak Davar dance troupe. You have worked your way up and deserve every bit of the success you have achieved. This has definitely given us a kick and inspired us to work harder.
Your marriage to Mira Rajput was a shocker for everyone (you broke a million hearts, though). There was loads of hullabaloo about where you guys met, how you fell in love and everything about the wedding celebrations. When it was revealed that it was an arranged marriage and we got to see the love between you guys on several occasions, we thought to ourselves that maybe mothers are right. Maybe arranged marriages do work out well.
So Sasha, here I am, writing on behalf of all those girls who blush every time they see you smile on the big screen and sob to your every heartbreak in the movies. We hope you continue to entertain us with your talent and thank you for being our hero. And of course, we wish you loads of luck for Rangoon. Happy birthday, Shahid!
Your typical celebrity crusher.
