Life is iffy and veiled with complexities along with subsequent bemusements and surprises but the question as to what life has got in store for one can be unraveled by experiencing the flavors to cognize the purport of life through its audacious odyssey. Delhi Belly is a movie based on a similar line crafted with drollness and double meaning gags.
After the success of Taare Zameen Par and Lagaan, the stickler Aamir Khan is back with his new-fangled production Delhi Belly with Imran Khan in the lead. Delhi Belly seems to encounter problems, as its release has flabbergasted the spectators due to the adult scenes molded in boundless abusive words. It seems that Aamir Khan has produced this movie out of sheer aggravation over not winning the Oscars for any of his movies which has led him to project his weird notion on the youth of today through a package of adult comicalness ensuring guffaw for those who don’t mind watching and listening to adult jests.
The story revolves around three flat mates, comrades and cronies in felony –Tashi (Imran Khan), Arup (Vir Das) and Nitin (Kunal Roy Kapoor). Tashi is to wed in a month but he’s oblivious if his fiancée Sonia (Shenaz Treasury) is the ideal partner for him or not while Arup is befuddled whether to slay his girlfriend who forsaken him or his dim-witted and irksome boss who bothers creativity in making bananas laugh whereas Nitin is about to explore that feasting on Tandoori Chicken off a street seller is going to offer him the most hideous case of Delhi Belly never experienced before. Three ordinary chaps with an ordinary life, excluding the only petite point which puts them on the drop-dead list of the baleful felony consortium in the world. The movie contains average story and no message attached to it but more of abusive lingo and dirty scenes which can affect the progress of the movie.
Director Abhinay Deo has convinced the spectators with his wondrous directorial adroitness which is credible enough to extol over whereas the screenplay and the cinematography along with the fine precision in the transition of the scenes has kept the spectators entertaining with its flow thereby leading them to engage with the movie.
Imran Khan’s customary pokerfaced and impassive acting has been well employed in the movie whereas Vir Das, The Comedy Store and the Badmaash Company fame and Kunal Roy Kapoor have convincingly kept the spectators ecstasy alive which is colorable enough to eulogize their finesse in acting. The other actors also have their best contribution in the movie.
The attention-grabbing songs like Switty, Nakkadwale and controversial song especially D.K Bose had already developed elation amongst the spectators during its pre release but now with its release these songs have gained popularity thus leaving all the controversies in the dark.
Delhi Belly is packaged well in terms of the elements requisite to constitute a movie with every dimensions of entertainment fulfilled but a lot of unwanted scenes and the usage of abusive language has led to sabotage the integrity of the movie. This dosage of adult comicalness indubitably needs a large appetite to digest. On the whole, Delhi Belly is for those who would love to get entertained with adult jests and guffaw over the same but strictly not meant for kids.
