“I want Dhoom 3, the film, to be remembered more than my role" – Aamir Khan
2004, 2007 and now, 2013. 'Tis the year when the third film off the crime-action-drama franchise, Dhoom: 3 shall release. 'Tis also the year when cine-goers will get to watch Bollywood's Mr. Perfectionist, Aamir Khan as the anti-hero in this visually-magnificent film that gets a lot of value through the good performances. There's excitement, there's thrill and a lot of expectations pinned to this film that releases at year-end. Great expectations have also led many to analyze the film's fate by just looking at the trailer and the first song from the album, Dhoom Machale Dhoom, that solely features Katrina Kaif in a smoldering avatar.
At the event held in Mumbai recently on the song's release, both Aamir Khan and Katrina Kaif met the media and gladly answered the volley of questions that came their way. This is the third time the signature Dhoom tune shall be heard, albeit with a tad-bit change in the instruments and the tempo, while keeping the essence the same. Katrina Kaif, who has previously looked ravishing in her avatars as Sheila and Chikni Chameli, raises the temperature manifold with her attire, the dance moves and the red lipstick. The actress has definitely worked very hard at achieving the svelte figure she is seen sporting in the film. From corsets, to bodysuits to beautiful gowns, Katrina Kaif looks lovely in the entire wardrobe that has been designed for her. She has been known as the Barbie Doll in Indian Cinema ever since she set foot in the film industry and has come a long way in a little over a decade that she has spent here. At the song's launch, the actress wore a shocking pink dress that flared into pleats waist-down, matched with strappy stilettos, and yet again, looked extremely pretty.
Aamir Khan, on the other hand, came dressed in the most simple clothes one could imagine. Mr. Perfectionist is also one of the most professional actors in the industry. A short while before the event began, the actor was supporting his good friend and cricket's genius, Sachin Tendulkar at Wankhede Stadium on the first day of the legend's final match. Aamir Khan said that Sachin Tendulkar has been creating Dhoom ever since he started playing and will continue to do so in the future as well, hence, the song 'Dhoom Machale Dhoom
' must be dedicated to him. Well said, Aamir.
"Maskhara, mazakiya, vidooshak, joker, clown… yeh sab hamare naam hai… lekin clown banna serious kaam hai"
When asked how he felt about the working on the film, Aamir Khan said that he loved the script in totality and that he would like the film to be remembered by everyone, more than his role. He plays a Clown Thief in the film and introduces himself in the most charming way as well. After delivering a hit TV show, Satyamev Jayate
, which will soon start its second season, it's perhaps an assumed aspect of the actor's career, that he must make a film which carries a social message. However, Dhoom:3
is not that film, as the actor says that it is meant to entertain people and we, as the audience, are most certain that it will earn many adulations in the process.
What's more, Katrina Kaif has worked with all 3 Khans of the industry, a feat achieved by very few young actresses in today's date. Both actors were very comfortable in each others' company at the event and as is evident from all the promos seen uptil now. They definitely seem excited to take on more projects, as time goes by. The actress had to face a catch-22 situation when she was asked who she preferred out of the 3 superstar Khans in the Hindi film industry. Without giving much thought to this, Katrina said that she had a great working relationship with all of them, however working with Shahrukh Khan made her the most nervous. According to this actress, Aamir Khan should be rated a 9 on a scale of 10 when it comes to donning a romantic avatar. Truly, there's great magic in those innocent eyes and naughty smile.
What remains to be seen is the final outcome of the film on 20:12:13, the day of the film's release, when Aamir Khan enters the scene as the suave villain Sahir, and Katrina shows some lovely dance steps as Aaliya while ACP Jai Dixit (Abhishek Bachchan) and Ali (Uday Chopra) devise a plan to hunt the thief down.
Here's wishing good luck to everyone working on the film.
