There is no denying the fact that Emma Watson is brilliant and one of our favorite persons on the planet. From her initial role as Hermoine Granger in the Harry Potter series, Watson has evolved into a strong woman who is never afraid to speak her mind and is an inspiration to several girls. She has been a UN Goodwill Ambassador since 2014 and has always been extremely vocal about feminism, gender equality and women's education. Watson is all set to play Belle in Disney’s upcoming Beauty and The Beast and the world cannot wait for her to bring one of our favorite Disney characters to life. We personally cannot think of anyone else who is better suited for this role.
Watson has been going all out to promote her film and also did a photo shoot with Vanity Fair magazine recently, with fashion photographer Tim Walker. In one of the photos, Watson is seen posing braless in a white Burberry top and has received much criticism for it. The actress has been accused of giving up her feministic ideals by exposing herself.
However, the actress slammed her critics and said, “Feminism is about giving women choice. Feminism is not a stick with which to beat other women with. It's about freedom. It's about liberation. It's about equality. It's not — I really don't know what my t*ts have to do with it.” She also expressed her surprise about the many misconceptions that exists about what feminism.
Today, on Woman’s Day, this incident proves to be a good reminder about how we should all educate ourselves about what feminism actually means.
